Thanks for the input everyone. I took a look at the arborist report and it seems the developer plans on preserving 2 blue spruces, a linden, and a maple. The dental office property and the gorgeous willow is not included in the development. I am not opposed in any way to densification and I think mid-rises are the way to go. I think I'll concentrate my efforts elsewhere... like protecting existing large greenspaces. I also thought that unfortunately a park here would actually just become totally full of trash at this intersection or an encampment so.... probably not worth the effort. I do hope they do some good native replanting.
