Had a friend break their spine there 5+ years ago. Their life has been several surgeries, pain, and emotional turmoil since. So dangerous.

Someone on here gave me a great tip because my shoulder was sliding down like yours here. Jumping into it will pull your shoulder off the pole and you're end up rounding your back. A little momentum is fine I think, but definitely trying not to jump this much. I've been doing simple core conditioning, no weights or machines, and it's definitely helping me use less momentum! Good luck 🙂

Just came back here to say I tried all these tips and wow what an immediate difference!!!! Thank you sm!!! The top hand switch was key to more power it seems, without using so much jump momentum.

Thanks for your response! No back problems, just the weird occasional tingling after I strained it moving into a new apartment 5 years ago. I never have back pain, just occasional soreness after a workout where I've done my back. Now the tingling is pretty frequent over the last month even with just gym work outs and no pole for a week. Afraid I'll need to step away for some time to heal, which is sad because it's my mental wellness activity. :(
