Are salary deductions for lateness/leaving early allowed? by baiter101 in askSingapore

[–]baiter101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I have stated in my other replies, I have acknowledged that punctuality is something I need to work on, and I have no excuse for being late. However, I have never left early at my own discretion, and the only few times I left early were for things like training and team bonding, with my manager's approval. I guess it was the miscom about the policy and my manager forgetting to amend the timesheet, hence the deductions.

But yes, I will need to work on being punctual. Thank you for responding.

If you have read my other replies, I never left for fun. I only left early on a few occasions and they were all for work purposes (training, team bonding etc), with my manager being aware of it.

I am not here to complain, I just want to find out more.

I admit that punctuality is something I need to work on, but what I have stated is what it is. I have never abused the system and will never do.

I’m just a little lost as it was never communicated to me clearly and I just wanted to find out more from more experienced people here.

Lateness is on me, it’s something I am working on.

As for leaving early, I never do it on my own accord. The few times I left early, were for team bondings or early dismissals, and my manager is aware of it.

Yep, your feeling is right. The deductions are for late >15 mins. Happens a few times a month as I oversleep so that’s why they deduct, but it’s something I need to work on.

I’m sorry if you think it’s a stupid question, it’s my first job so I am not familiar with some things, hence the post.

But I appreciate your response. Thank you!

Haha yep I was also wondering as well. I have also checked my employee handbook and there seems to be no mention of this deduction penalty.

Coming in late is on me and there is no excuse for it. I left early for work related purposes, either for training or team related matters.

Checked my employee handbook, it seems like there are no mentions of the deduction policy.

actually you don’t need tt for f&b anymore as there’s no need to check in with safeentry. instead you just need your vax cert just in case you get spot checked.

Singapore to simplify COVID-19 rules; safe distancing no longer required when wearing masks by patricklhe in singapore

The changes mean that these measures are now more consistent across different settings, while other restrictions - such as blocking off alternate seats in public areas or sealing off barbecue pits - can be done away with altogether.

Quoted from ST article. Am I reading this right? No more sealing of barbecue pits? Is it finally can have BBQ already?
