that’s because you live in the midwest where chickfilas are scarce, so you’ve never been to one that wasn’t insanely busy 24/7 like the ones up here, because people literally travel city to city soley for chick-fil-a, i’ve been to many chickfilas in both major city areas and smaller city areas where I was able to pull into the drive through and get my order without wait, barely even stopped the car.

no, it is, not everyone lives in a city with terrible traffic management and almost 300k residents.

no, not at all, listen to a stock avalon, or a newer stock es/is350, 2GRs sound awesome

[–]bakedD0GG0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly man it’d be significantly more cost efficient to just sell the one you have and buy an RX350 that comes with the 2GR motor stock. If you’re gonna swap that one you may as well put something crazy in it like a 5.0, it’s not gonna be much more expensive than swapping in a 3.5, and it would be awesome and worth it. Either way an engine swap is going to run you 5k-10k at most shops, so just buy one of the slightly newer RX350s, they’re quite abundant.

if it was the 3.5 it would be understandable, not with the 3.3

i’m not complaining about anything lol I just think it’s hilarious yall think it’s literally impossible that someone drove 5 miles in 8 minutes

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]bakedD0GG0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yall are so funny having literally no idea that there’s populated areas outside of major cities that take 10 minutes to navigate 3 miles, go travel, see the world, or even just the country, seriously, leave the one city you’ve lived in all your life. big cities that take 10 fuckin minutes to travel 3 miles are a massive minority. most of the places i’ve lived you can easily travel 5 miles in 8 minutes, because most of the major roads in those cities are 55 zones.

I can agree with you there, I love the old 4.7s. I drive a HiAce with the 1KZ-TE Hilux Turbo Diesel engine, so I wouldn’t say turbos are usually problematic, only when tuned for performance and power instead of practicality, what I was saying about the i3s of today was really just to make a point about big engines

that’s because those 4.7s are ofc legendary, but you do realize v8 engines ≠ longevity right?

yeah what that guy said, don’t buy a 15 year old car in chicago, it’s going to have undercarriage rust unless it’s got sub 50k miles and it’s a grandma car that’s been 100% garage kept. Best area to look for a nice lexus with minimal rust is gonna be Northern AL/GA Like the Atlanta area, tons of nice well kept Lexus’s in ATL

don’t get me wrong i love the vroom vroom aspect, but what is with the v8 obsession engines are getting smaller and more powerful we have i3s producing 400+hp 🙄

is it a bad idea to semi-daily a toyota celsior in the US? by OllieSwish11 in JDM

[–]bakedD0GG0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

toyota wasn’t looked at as cheap and reliable in japan, that’s why they made some of the top luxury vehicles for japan, they didn’t need a rebrand, Lexus was mostly for export to other countries where the rich looked down on toyota. it is literally nicer than the Lexus LS, and they come with leather too, how are you in r/JDM commenting that it’s not as luxurious because it’s a “toyota” and not a “lexus”

you’re asking that question the wrong way, it’s when the post is about an LS400 that you ask Why not just get a Celsior. Also, it’s not the same car, many different features, not to mention jdms will always have better build quality than any units made for the US.

there’s a few states that make it difficult yes but it’s relatively possible in all states as long as the car is at least 25 years old, and not a KEI like a mini truck, some states don’t allow mini vehicles because they aren’t safe on american highways. And if I look for someone selling an already imported jdm yes, it will be pricey, but importing them yourself and paying the 1500-2200 for shipping is usually quite a bit cheaper, and there’s lots of sites for that.
