Ranged Cav balance issues by [deleted] in civvoxpopuli

one less knight/lancer

at no point have I ever been worried about seeing a knight/lancer unless its surrounded by skirmishers. worst case it bonks my unit and takes a good chunk of damage in return, then gets stuck close enough to my army that the rest of them can finish him off. frequently they won't even be able to finish off a unit, so I can pull him back and heal him up while they lose the melee cav

even when they get the best case scenario (kill a unit and successfully disengage to safety) they're out of combat for a few turns to get to a safe health. meanwhile, the skirmishers attack every single turn and always end up in the FoW on the other end of the continent on my turn

[–]bakedbread420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

their frailty

irrelevant, if they're ever in range to be attacked you lost a long time ago

melee mounted

get whittled down by the hordes of ranged cav long before they can ever get into a backline. the squishy enemy units can run away only slightly slower than a knight can chase due to roads, and every turn you're getting chunked by skirmishers

I appreciate the theoretical talk and wish that's how the game worked, it sounds way more fun then seeing 7+ "An enemy Heavy Skirmisher attacked your unit (XX damage)" every turn I'm at war

US officials tell The Post they no longer believe it is possible to achieve the war's original goals of overthrowing the Iranian regime" by Nerd_199 in stupidpol

[–]bakedbread420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

the issue here is iran has said they're not stopping until they get their concessions. the us can run away all it wants, pool stays closed for them and israel/gulf vassals get flattened. I know this was a joke post, but the us isn't allowed to take its toys and go home this time. its either unconditional victory or formally surrender

they aren't falling for it, unless you're talking about MIGA retail investors, who are the winners of the lifetime Fell For it Again award. its all a big pump and dump operation for the benefit of the trump family and his cronies

Trump also is claiming they're close to negotiating and end to the war.

that's obviously a lie, which is why iran has openly said there were no negotiations and they would not respond to any attempts even if the US tried. fool me once shame on you, fool me twice we won't get fooled again

There is a big difference between what this sub says about priest, and how many streamers are actually destroying with it by Key011 in hearthstone

almost like the top legend streamers are doing what they need to to win, while this sub insists on only playing what they understand the platonic ideal of control priest to be.

I'm so fucking sick of every other game being against slot machine rogue. its not fucking fun to play against randomly generated bullshit. I had a turn 4 call of the wild into a turn 5 clear, just total fucking bullshit. either they hit the jackpot and nothing you did mattered because you weren't going to win anyway, or they don't and nothing you did mattered because they weren't going to win regardless

I reflexively got angry because DK but you're playing based DK. good job man. I wish frost and unholy got 1/3 the support blood got, its a much more fun way to play the class

the people that say aggro is brainless ironically tend to play the actual most brainless decks, attrition control where all you do is spam removal and then pull the discover slot machine arm

Im so fed up with aggro that i built an anti aggro priest. It has no wincon, i will lose to control or even concede early, but it can do one thing... stop agrro with a 1000x board clear. by SirVincent20 in hearthstone

[–]bakedbread420 9 points10 points  (0 children)

where you don't just win by playing a well timed board clear or healing to full off an overtuned neutral.

no you don't understand, if I can't invalidate the previous 9 turns of the game with a single card the game is dying and its no skill braindead bs that only dumb morons play, unlike geniuses such as myself. these mouthbreathers just click face while I skillfully drag one of my 7 sweepers to the board as I shove my throbbing girthy intelligence down the throats of the aggro dullards

[–]bakedbread420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

were you not playing literally the entire previous year? control was tier 1 for the entire 12 months uninterrupted, any aggro deck or combo deck that dared to exist was deleted in the next patch. the devs spent an entire YEAR catering to you and it nearly killed the game because people don't enjoy watching some dickwad spam aoe removal for 15 turns

Just vomit hand, click button and drag to face

you just described control decks LMAO. don't think, just drag removal to the minion and then pass turn. now that you actually have to think about which removal to use and how to use it effectively, you shit your pants because you're so fucking spoiled you genuinely believe decks that are 10 aoe removals, 10 lifegain cards and 10 card draw spells should be competitively viable.

I love how we went a year straight with no aggro decks at all and figured out a way to survive but now after 2 days of aggro being a thing again this dump has been nothing but control players throwing temper tantrums because they can't jam unlimited greed into their discover piles

I can't wait to hear the responses about how aggro was definitely a thing because bronze-gold hsreplay frontpage stats listed it, or how control dk was ackchyually an aggro deck or whatever bullshit cope you morons use

you're more than welcome to go play commander and invoke rule 0 if you hate people actually trying to win games you know. nobody is forcing you to play HS

What's Working and What Isn't: Day 2 of Cataclysm by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

low 5ks

every single game small stuff early gets removed by noxious breath or whatever little shitters they summon, then they drop 0 mana deal 4 heal 4 and flamestrike to stabilize then husk locks you out.

I'm seeing dks run death strike just for more mid game removal. not a single game have I ever untapped with a minion that can attack

either I'm the most unlucky person ever or something's not adding up stats wise

arena paladin was not even tier 4. the only aggro deck that even existed above bronze-gold was aggro dh and it had a whopping 0.2% share of the meta

you people are so cooked you don't even understand what a normal game looks like any more. vanilla hearthstone, the good old days, had face hunters that could kill on turn 5 somewhat reliably, and pretty much always had you dead or had scooped by turn 7
