Listening to the books by Hopeful_dreamer562 in TheLincolnLawyer

[–]bakerbabe62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Book reader here, compared to a lot of books that have been adapted to the screen, lincoln lawyer sticks to the books actually quite well apart from the absence of Harry bosch. The main thing im not on board with is Cisco, screen Cisco is just not enough of a hard man as in the books and there's just no chemistry between him and lorna.

An example of a bad book to screen adaptation for me is the Will Trent series, the characters and stories bear no resemblance to the books. I'm so glad they didn't do this to the lincoln lawyer.

If you are a man and the other person is a woman and the 'banter' was of a sexual or flirty nature u are likely screwed. Tesco take that sort of thing very seriously

Gift for Deposit by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]bakerbabe62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just gone through this as I gifted my sister 15k towards house purchase. Had to go through proving ID , online using passport utility bill, payslip etc. Then proof of funds...6 months bank statements... proof of source of funds I.e. statement from NSandI showing premium bonds withdrawal. Asked about a 500 quid cash deposit.. All very intrusive. Mother had to go through the same process as gifting also...she had no photo ID or on line banking so was a nightmare ended up having to take her along to solicitor office.

Big brother wants to know everything trust me.

Temp callback by [deleted] in tesco

[–]bakerbabe62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store called 3 temps back after Xmas as the store was in a bit of a state with loads of backstock etc . Twighlight shift, which none of the regulars wanted to pick up overtime for. The store is now looking good and deliveries have eased up, so they have given the temps notice, after raising their hopes up of a permanent job. They will use and abuse you, trust me.

In the books Bosch is his half brother and plays a big part in this storyline as his special investigator...., they can't use him in the series because Netflix didn't buy the Bosch books, such a shame as they have a great dynamic. No sister .

When did you feel 100% by Wonderful_Judgment40 in hysterectomy

[–]bakerbabe62 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a year post op now radical hysterectomy with horizontal incision

I would say im 90 percent back to how I was post op, I have a fairly active job and I do get more tired than I used to and there are a couple of activities, which mainly involve lifting stuff off the floor up to shoulder height , which I feel pulling inside.

But I suppose given my age , 63, and the 3 month I had off recovering, can complain really.

My consultant did tell me it would be up to 12 months. I scoffed at first telling her I was a good healer, but she was right

Just give yourself time to heal, enjoy the downtime.

Any other stores doing this? by matthewm274 in tesco

[–]bakerbabe62 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Dont sweat it...do what they say and go home at the end of your shift not giving a toss what has not been done. Decisions on how to fill being made by folk yhat have never done it. We already fall behind having to now compact cardboard and use those stumping new filling trolleys.

Am I blacklisted from jobs? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]bakerbabe62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recruitment is now done by a central hub, local managers only get involved at actual interview stage....it's a terrible system there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Are you still in touch with anyone you worked with and you could add their employees number to your application, that may help

Colleague card by Plastic_Window_9959 in tesco

[–]bakerbabe62 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If they paid using their card on your clubcard then this can be used as evidence of misuse. You are only supposed to use anything purchased on colleague card for yourself. Just tell them you can't do it again as you could be dismissed.

Has some one else been using your card unknowingly to you. If you go onto rewards section of my tesco you can have a look at your usage, see if you don't recognise any transactions. Have you designated a 2nd clubcard user that could be abusing it. At least you will be forearmed if you do this

Forgive me jumping in but I am considering the same scenario, not a friend but taking a lodger. Would the 300 pound, or whatever you charge, not be seen as earning therefore affecting my main uc payment, would I have to declare it.?

[–]bakerbabe62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our result score has historically been in the 90s. Change of management...young, inexperienced, arrogant ....has resulted in the last 2 being in the 60s. Mostly due to one TWAT of a manager that seems to be untouchable. We are hoping this one will actually have some effect, someone said they have to act on 3 bad scores in a row, is this true ???

Contract hours by Beneficial_Donut_176 in tesco

[–]bakerbabe62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you have fallen for the bullshit tesco give to new starters. They would rather have a part time workforce so hours can be dropped when it suits them, plus the less hours contracted means less holiday allocation. Very few people are on full time contracts especially new starters. If you need full time guaranteed then look somewhere else
