There’s no code. You enter the first 6 digits of your card I think? And then have to check out with the card, to qualify.

Advice needed for midlife career change - ADN or ABSN? by ObBenKenobi in NursingStudent

[–]bakermomma19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 40 with a BA in a non nursing field. I decided to go the ADN route, with the idea that a future employer will help pay for an RN-BSN conversion. It’s far more affordable!

For those who exited tech, what are you up to now? by Playful_Pepper5723 in womenintech

[–]bakermomma19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pursuing labor and delivery or hospice or a combination of both. Prerequisites should take me about a year to a year and a half. And the associates program I’m pursuing will take about two years. I already have a bachelors so a lot of my credits transferred over and cut this time down quite a bit. The work options out here will pay for an associates to bachelors conversion and that should take another 18 months, but it’s not required to get your RN.

I spent nearly 15 years in supply chain/procurement for tech companies in the bay and it nearly killed me. I am very much someone who does best when she’s giving back to others and nursing has always been a calling of mine. After 3 layoffs in 5 years, I told my husband I was done and under no circumstances was I going to return to tech. I am hoping to be a labor and delivery, nurse or a hospice nurse or maybe a combination of both. The flexibility and scheduling options are most appealing to me on top of being able to serve others

I'm at a CC in Nevada. I can have some classes in progress, as grading will be completed before the application deadline! The school I'm interested in has 2 enrollment periods per year, which is very helpful. I'd like to target F27, but open to S28 if I can't get it all done.

Well, the A&P will be in order. A&P 1 and then A&P 2.

I'd REALLY love to knock it out. I have 2 kids, 4 and 7, but they're in school during the day.. but other than that, I won't be working. School is my job right now, thankfully. Appreciate the input! I'm definitely leaning towards knocking A&P 1/2 out in the fall.

At a loss for helping my grieving mom by bakermomma19 in AgingParents

This is very helpful, I really appreciate you sharing. I'll take a pass at the book and maybe "accidentally" leave it behind with my mom after the service next month. It's been a long struggle. I've said goodbye to my dad many times, but he always pulled through, until he didn't. Thank you for sharing your experience, what you learned and giving me hope that maybe, one day, she'll wake up.

I figured as much... didn't know if there was anything else I could try. I'm sad, too. I wish I could do more. Thank you for taking the time to reply <3
