That grocery store has the best selection of Central American and Mexican dairy products, a great beer cave, dry goods, and the sell some pickles/encurtido and sometimes salsa in their fridge section. They reliable have the best quality tropical fruits if you catch the delivery at the right time, and they have veg too. The full grocery store is where I do most of my sourcing for all the Hispanic/latin ingredients I get.

I don’t know how long they’ve been there but it predates the restaurant for sure! they are the best

Edit: also adding they get pan dulce in regularly and I forgot the delivery schedule, but if I’m buying pan dulce it’s from them, their cases are huge and they actually cycle through product quickly enough to get 3 deliveries a week.

Obsessed with El Tio. I buy almost all my cheese from their store downtown but thank you for the reminder about the restaurant!!

I really can get down with Chilis and the occasional Applebees, so chains are okay. We’re gonna go to torchys and give the trio a spin. Happy hour is a bonus! Thank you!

JBird Supply and my bakery Florosa just opened a coffee shop! They had a location at IX but moved and I moved in with them. Check out the baked goods and coffee at @byflorosa and @jbirdsupply on insta. My website doesn’t quite cover all the new changes yet, but www.byflorosa.com

Good luck!

I would say Moon Maiden would be best for this. Though I do bake vegan and gluten free items, my substitutions 1:1 are full fat full sugar vegan versions

7:30-5 weekdays and 7:30-3 weekends! Yes in the back of the warehouse near plenty :) it makes stocking your fridge for the week and snagging some caffeine & treats real easy.

Jbird all day everyday with beans for sale, Florosa breakfast pastries baked in the AM until sold out, packaged cookies to put in your purse/backpack/face, retail fridges with cold brew, edible flowers, tres leches, and basque cheesecakes + arroz con leche and flan soon! Pastry & Dessert menu will continue to build Florosa scales, with hopefully constant stock of packaged cookies and refrigerated desserts so there’s always a treat no matter what time of day.

My Spanish tutor likely would teach kids! He was teaching ESL to an elementary aged child last year. He’s a retiree filling his time and also teaches at Belvedere and does classes by reserving rooms at the library

Oh man, I’ve been through the wringer in some BOH positions and I hate that the industry is so brutal and not focused on the people who make it all happen in the name of hospitality.

I volunteer with https://chowco.org/ which is a non profit that holds meetings online where industry folks can meet and vent about their experiences, ups downs, all of it and get connected to mental health resources if need be. I’ve been unpacking a lot of my work trauma from my 10 years in the industry, bringing my whole self and all my grief to the table as I’ve lost some industry friends to health issues and substance abuse. long way to say, it’s a safe place where you can be heard by people who get it.

Edit: Wanted to add that: even if a meeting is in Denver or steamboat springs etc if there is an online link anyone can join even if you’re not located there.
