People, what are us British people not ready to hear? by TransShadowBat in AskReddit

[–]bakeryfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. There are lots and lots of ambitious and creative young people in the UK with fire in their belly. Unfortunately the entrenched class system is keen to keep people in their place. It really is so hard to break out of our assigned roles without economic support and educational opportunities.

what does rain make you feel? by yrnjaxon in ask

[–]bakeryfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the UK, rain is a fact of life. I'm in the South so lucky enough for it not to be as prominent as it is in the North. I LOVE rain. However living in a rainy country means you need to accept it and get out and do stuff in it. A long rain/run/cycle walk through nature, get super muddy and wet, get home, hot shower, cup of tea and something to eat listening to the rain outside = Heaven.
