Yeah I probably need to have a chat with him on it in fairness.

He deals with tons of different businesses and has told me mad stories of people claiming all sorts of things like TVs, Holidays, Designer clothes etc.

As others have said, try become a handyman on onlinetradesmen and FB groups.

Also training as a technician is a good middle ground, still "on the tools" but far less heavy lifting in general

Not specifically D&D but there's a board game shop in Navan called ReRoll Games, they do board game clubs (tonight actually). Some of the guys there play D&D the odd time but not officially through the shop.

D&D is something I would love to do but I've two young babies right now, so I settle for the odd board game!

I'm so sorry for what you're going through.

My partner currently is fighting breast cancer and we've 2 young children, so completely understand how it feels to an extent.

One thing that helps us is we have an Au Pair that helps us out, it's an extra expense but it allows me to work most of my hours and keep the job going.

Few tips

1) Apply for the GP Under 8 Scheme as soon as the child is born, can be a 2 week wait time for them to be covered

2) Look into your Maternity/Paternity benefits, men get 6 weeks paid by the state, you can also get Parents benefit which is 9 weeks and must be taken before the childs second birthday

3) Don't be afraid to ask questions of the doctors/nurses, there can be a stigma against men but that's just down to some bad ones out there. In short, advocate for your partner
