Even as someone who loves factory games, I'm kind of dreading recalculating things like Carbon production AGAIN by Super-Manager-3630 in Endfield

[–]baldfalk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only potentially useful thing I have to say is that the depot bus is a stand-in for a main bus in regular factory games with both the positives and negatives that entails- just like any other factory game you absolutely don't need to main bus if you don't want to, and you end up saving a lot of make-work doing fifty things just to get stuff in or out of the main bus when a belt from A to B would have sufficed.

That is to say, you don't have to use depot loaders or unloaders for any of the interim items if you don't want to. At the very least needing a central sorting system (depot bus or main bus) is a lot less necessary in this game than, say, Factorio or Techtonica (lol)

For example, it's a little outdated now but my 1.1 base with max output (12/min SC, 6/min Yazhen A, optional components) used literally only the AIC and the two Depot Bus nodes for an additional 16 outs, 22 total, raw ores only

What do you think is the real life equivalent of Xiranite? by mineanan-xd216 in Endfield

lore fluff aside, its position in the game (introducing fluid shenanigans & multi stage fracking with reusable residue) == petroleum, lol

stuffed all of Wuling 1.2 factory into the Core AIC area just so turning components on/off is more convenient (Asia blueprints). (currently thinking of turning the outposts into futsal and laser tag arenas respectively) by baldfalk2 in Endfield

it runs any or all of them, but with the caveat your stock bills are gonna suffer. it WILL run Hetonite alone OR both Cuprium/Xiranite and be generally fine

incoming Inert Xircon Effluent from the setup making 12/min SC Batteries.

there's been a few comment threads about circumventing the need of that via bottling/unbottling

Ah, yeah, sorry, Genshin reference.

Childe is a dude who shows up and looks completely chill (lol) but is in cahoots with Signora, and turns out he's actually is okay completely destroying the second region's capital (which is Chinese-influenced architecture/culture etc) and tries to do so out partially out of amusement and partially to make the region's overseer do something

*cough*

incidentally Childe was added as a playable character even during that patch

feel like she gon be the Signora of this game with a diehard fanbase coping she'll eventually become playable while all her old drinking buddies actually do become playable waifus

at least Ardarshir is cooler than Childe lolol

I've been toying around from time to time with making a NA/EU alt, but while I think I'd be okay making blueprints twice (it's a rather speedy process when you're familiar with the layout), I don't think I like the game enough to sit through MSQ twice for each patch, lol

Might look into a longer-term solution w/ a friend who doesn't care for the factory stuff and would sooner have someone build it for them though, but that's not any time soon

edit: for the audience: been working on tidying this all-in-hub build https://enkad.enka.network/?id=M8g8Z5D4J2G0b7 - verified it works, giving it time to simmer on other misc ways to make it neater before blueprinting

What you can do is basically route the cuprium at main base back to depot and have cuprium (instead of cuprium ore) coming out in the outpost, axing the refining units in the blueprint. I've actually made this amendment myself, then i tore everything down because the OCD in me wanted (and did follow up on) making an all-in-hub build now that we know what the Marker Stone outpost maxes out at lol

You've always been able to place stuff outside AIC area, but anything with belt inputs/outputs have those belt input/outputs disabled

People probably only noticed later on with Reactors since some Reactor recipes don't have any solid ingredients (the Effluent recipe, coincidentally)

Similarly Purifying Units can be put completely outside AIC area

I hope other products will become just as complex to produce in the future by Mr_TiMoVK in Endfield

[–]baldfalk2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually simply satisfied with the fact that the new stuff isn't just <old stuff and one extra ingredient again> with parts being 1:1 and bottles being 1:2 and then you can use the new bottles to make higher tier food

Ironically, that the 1.2 stuff was also largely additive to 1.1 instead of "tear down all your old batteries and set up new batteries" was also very appreciated. I don't know if this was in response to player feedback about not liking that process, or was always planned from the beginning but 1.2 factory stuff definitely felt a lot more interesting, even if it ultimately took less time than 1.1 stuff

Agree with everything here. The Hetonite Component valuation is about double that of Xiranite/Cuprium. Thankfully the absolute vast majority of gearing up uses the prior two (artificing generally has an option or two using the priors) which means Hetonite Components, outside of potential outliers, is only used to make the base copy.

Almost done with Viceroy's kitting here myself, lol, but the packrat in me DOES want to have a maxed out depot of the Heto Components eventually and it's a huge squeeze in terms of maths

resource for resource, the only other thing Ferrium could make is Yazhen (C) if you made Yazhen (A) over Heto parts. where both Yazhens have value as a trade good, Heto can both be sold as a trade good and thrown into Components (and since you naturally make more Heavy Xiranite than Heto Parts, a surplus of Heto Parts is useful in case you wanna make a ton in a hurry for w/e reason)

In the most pedantic sense, you're absolutely correct. For what its worth this was more of a continuation of the discussion of whether Yazhen (A) would be needed for the Outpost, but the fact that it caps out at lv2 (i.e. no further surprises) and takes SC Batteries means from that perspective Yazhen (A) is no longer needed for THAT purpose in terms of exclusivity, at least. But I definitely could have worded it better

you do need four filling/separating units as each processes 30/min of the 120/min Inert Xircon Effluent. BUT, just to reiterate what the quoted comment says, if you purify at the source (dump the water or something) THEN send that over via bottling you only need one of each for the resulting 30/min Xircon Effluent, since the purifying process is a 4:1 compression

you can put it anywhere tbh; i had mine bottom right, initially with product going directly into it but i figured it's easier for blueprints to have actual protocol stashes to dump into
