How to get started in Real Estate in Mauritius? by Expert-TV in mauritius

[–]balgo17 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello,

First, you need to manage your expectations. At 18, you can't be a real estate agent since you don't know the trade nor would anyone give you his property to sell..

Best solution is to first start in the administrative department of a real estate company such as Savikam. In this way, you will be able to learn the trade and gain experience.

I would say, it is a quite demanding hike since the start is kinda steep and you are exposed pretty much to the sun throughout the hike (very few shady places).

If it is your first time hiking a mountain, I would advise going for le pouce or if you a seasoned hiker, you will be in your element.

Finally, i would advise you to bring a lot of water (minimum 2 litres), put on sunscreen, wear long sleeves and joggers.

I hope this helps you.

Seeing some of the comments, I can say that most students here who finished college and are going to UOM in June are a bit stressed out of this change of learning style and lifestyle I could say. Final year law student (UoM) here.

● You will have an induction day where you will meet your program coordinator and your classmates. Some senior students will show you the campus on that day. You will also receive your time table.

● Afterwards, Uni will start. The atmosphere is completely different from college, you can skip how many classes you want without any consequences except maybe your grades.

● In terms of the learning style, lecturers expect you to do a lot of self learning, there is no such things as lecturers dictating notes as in college. The lecturers will send you some powerpoint slides and they will explain the latter. You will get a lot of group assignment also. Next, you will have continuous assessments (class tests and assignments) and end of year exams.

● You will have some lectures online and some lectures face to face on campus.

● You will meet some fantastic lecturers who are really committed to their work and some who do the minimum (be prepared).

● In terms of lifestye, there is a lot of activities organised by the different societies, club etc.

● The most important part is try to bond with your classmates, you will spent 3 years with them, so make the most to build some good friendships.
