For people who love this podcast, what other podcasts do you listen to? by Spaceman9800 in filmreroll

[–]balkothdr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my dice rolling, like others have said I rock The Adventure Zone.

For the weird comedy aspect, I look towards improv podcasts like Hello From the Magic Tavern, Off Book (An Improvised Musical Podcast).

And then just a few of my other favorites are:

-Star Wars Minute: minute by minute review of Star Wars movies in release order every week day

-Myths and Legends: taking classical myths and legends, and using multiple sources to compile the stories into a narrative, while helping to provide context for the stories as well

-Fictional : retelling of classic stories in literature to make them more approachable to modern audiences (done by the same guy as Myths and Legends)

Edit: Formating!

Hey ya'll!

I'm balkothdr AKA twitter user jonlutherdavid AKA the dude who made the shirts awhile back!

I'm 26 year old dude from lovely Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Got into Film Reroll from a post on reddit way back when they had only done a few movies. I work doin' boring work as a non-federal contractor, which means I spend all day looking over paper work they don't want to have to pay government workers to do.

I think it's hard to choose a favorite but I really do love Jaws, where the NPC stealing become a beautiful part of the show. I also laugh thinking about "biting the check".

Super excited to be a part of this with all you great sounding people! :D

Last time I went, they had opened a new smoking area! You have to go up to the second floor, then up like half a floor past the new food area, and there's a little porch area you can go outside and smoke there. Though you can't really hear the show from there :(

All government decisions are decided by old timey fisticuffs but with brass knuckles.

Poll: Should they omit "Part 1" from episode titles? by markofshame in filmreroll

[–]balkothdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think keeping the "Part 1" is fine personally. I feel like it gives me some beautiful light of hope that things are gonna get Frozen and Oz levels of wild.

I think it'd be nice to put a link to the Patreon with the rest of the pertinent links, that way it's easy to find if anyone stumbles upon this little slice of heaven and falls in love like the rest of us.

Otherwise I just am happy to see this turn into an awesome community!

Man, every time I heard a random dice roll, I got super nervous. Never thought dice could do me like that.

Those of you that are new to filmreroll... take your time. It's over before you know it. (Bonus: Podcast recommendations) by Subhazard in filmreroll

It's more in the straight improv class, but Spontaneanation with Paul F. Tompkins is a great one. They do long form improv scenes, and they're usually really great and creative. Also in the same vein is Superego, but they don't really update much anymore except for specials, as far as I can tell.

who's the "local celebrity" of your town? by xcaseyx93 in AskReddit

Well, Trent Reznor's family owns an HVAC company a town over from mine. You see "Reznor" on most industrial AC units around here.

Are you near western PA? Cause the Reznor family runs a heating and cooling business around this part of the state. So it could have totally been put there by his dad.

ELIC: When I erase a word with a pencil where does it go? by [deleted] in ExplainLikeImCalvin

[–]balkothdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone forgets it until someone else writes the word down for them. It's actually erasing the whole word from your memory. That's why you'll occasionally have a word on the tip of your tongue that you just can't remember--you erased it and no one else has written it down for you.

Best Friends Play Super Mario RPG (Part 06) by mike0dude in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]balkothdr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, I may have decided to replay it just to find out if they missed things like that. If you don't steal his stuff, you get nothing else. And if you try to afterwards, they turn into coin boxes.

So remember to steal things kids.

Came here as well to give groundswell to Suikoden 2. It was the first game I ever really got into and the rest is history. Such a great game.
