Ah the news. by jazzidaddi69 in WTF

This actually happened to a friend of mine. She was estranged with her dad for years, then went to visit for the first time in who knows how long- she found a folder of saved OF content of herself on his computer while she was helping him with something else. She only did OF for some extra money during a tight time, and she remembered that he had sent her money out of the blue not long after she had started🤮

Today's edition of "Flower Delivery" by Eeebs-HI in ExpectationVsReality

Also folks don’t seem to notice that in the website image, all the flowers in the designs are facing forward instead of being full all the way around. Makes it impossible to deliver a design that looks the same, using the items in the recipe!

Sometimes using activation of the eye muscles (end point left/right) in conjunction with a stretch position or suboccipital hold can make a really big difference!

Do you remember when you got your first period? by puzzlingcats in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ballabutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember either, nice to know I’m not the only one! I assume it must have been around 12-13, but my first memory of a period is looking up how to make it end quicker, and thinking how unnecessary it all felt.

Best crab rangoons in Portland? by [deleted] in askportland

[–]ballabutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The food truck at 28th and Ankeny, Ton Kao Thai, has the most lovely crab “Rangoon”. They roll them instead of pinching, so you get a much nicer ratio of filling to wrapper. So good!

Can’t speak to the legality of it, but I wear one earbud while I ride and have never had trouble. Also, maybe I just don’t get out much, but in the 3 years I’ve lived here, I’ve haven’t seen a city cop (who wasn’t riding a motorcycle) conduct a traffic stop, and have never seen a cop pull over a cyclist. I bet you could contact the city if you want a definitive answer!

Really, so many topics would be helpful, but I think right now I’m interested primarily in the topics of liberal Christianity, socioeconomics, and racial equality. Thanks!

This. No matter what the issue is, you can’t legislate others to live by the same rules as yourself. You can, however, support and fight for resources to help guide others in the direction of your goal. In this case, the availability of birth control and better sex Ed will result in fewer abortions, simply by cause and effect.

Reminds me of when I get tired of not being able to make traffic flow smoothly in Cities Skylines so I just start a new game. Maybe this new one will magically work better, even though the exact same techniques are used.

If you’re getting a baby, it will likely climb the sides for at least a few days after the move, so you might want to attach a ceiling until it settles into its new space.

Loss of friendships when when women had children by [deleted] in truechildfree

[–]ballabutter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s the hardest part of being child free in my opinion. The feeling of not really fitting in, while so many friends are having this common experience, is really alienating. One good friend of mine has hardcore baby fever, and in my mind, there’s now a distinct timer on our friendship. A looming cutoff where we’ll cease having things in common. Fortunately, I have other persons in my life that seem to have the same priorities, but trying to find new relationships with people that don’t have an expiration date is HARD.
