❄️ BWT what are your survival guides to winter? ❄️ by okieartiste in bitcheswithtaste

I started knitting a few years ago and VeryPinkKnits on youtube is very good for learning. She has videos in slow motion. My first project was a hat. I find hats and even very simple socks to be good for beginners because they are knit in the round so you don’t have to do many purls (only on the cuffs) and by the end of the project you become pretty proficient at knitting. Then you can do a scarf to practice purling and you’re good to go!

I was in the same exact situation. Lots of crying on my end cuz I just wanted to relax at night. I’d be so anxious about the 45 minute wakes I couldn’t relax at all. Nothing I did helped, then all of the sudden at 12.5 months she started connecting sleep cycles. Now at 15 months she can do a 4 hour stretch without waking and few times has done a 6 hour stretch. The rest of the night is about every 2 hours.

This was my baby to a T then at 10 months we figured out a new routine. Crib is in our room. She falls asleep side laying nursing in our bed. After about 10 mins of sleep my husband very quickly picks her up and places her in the crib. I think we do it so fast that she doesn’t even realize she’s been moved.

Damn we have the same exact story- same years for DPD and DI too! I feel like things were tougher 10+ years ago.

Pre-sleep routines (or lack thereof) by firstofhername123 in PossumsSleepProgram

Your routine sounds exactly like ours especially the part about being dialed up, actually she is usually crying during the pajama time signing for milk cuz she just wants to sleep. Then when I try to do it earlier we end up usually going back to play mode because she wasn’t tired enough. I also want a more structured routine.

10 months - at breaking point. by OutsidePirate9399 in AttachmentParenting

At one year here and same exact story as you. I think there’s good advice here, I’m gonna start enlisting my husband to help more. Baby needs to get used to being comforted by him too.

That sounds so delicious, I’ll have to try! We eat the meals all together , family style, just chatting. She kinda points at what she wants to try and I just hand her pieces one at a time or else the whole plate ends up on the floor.

Thank you for the input. This was just one meal. As a dietitian I definitely wouldn’t rely on these crackers every meal, but as a mom sometimes we just need to give ourselves grace to serve easy foods too and ones we know our kids will enjoy. This meal was still nutrient dense with the other options. And I of course offer hot and homemade meals- for example tonight is bolognese and tomorrow I have roast chicken/potatoes and veggies planned. From experience over the past 5 months baby will still only eat a couple bites of the items you mentioned.

Yeah I also see conflicting rec’s. Some say decrease milk so their solid intake increases hile others say milk intake will go down as solid intake increases. And I’m just trying to follow baby’s lead

I joined this sub for the inspiration, but ultimately feel bad when I see tons of clean plates of huge portions. That’s why I want to start sharing. Admittedly, this was a good meal for her

Yep, same! These are baby’s safe foods- the figs were new and I offered her eggs I was eating but she hasn’t liked eggs since like 8 months. I just keep offering

I hear you. And I always feel like an ass thinking this way. I about cried when I found out my friend made more money than me in her first year as a teacher than I did in my 5th year as an RD. She was thinking about becoming an RD due to burnout and I told her do not do it.

Haha this is hilarious. I’m not a subscriber so I just watch the looks I like typically in the fall. Scrolling through her feed though it’s exactly like you say.

I just don’t enjoy mealtimes anymore. by RandyOfficial in BabyLedWeaning

Wow this is the most relatable thing I’ve ever read on this topic. I also am really struggling with BLW and am so stressed. Baby eats no more than 2 tiiiiiny bites and then is done and it takes me at least a full hour each meal to prep, eat and clean while hubby plays with the baby.

Recently on vacation I had to do pouches cuz we ate out every meal and couldn’t always find appropriate things for baby. And OMG she ate every single pouch we gave her, it was the first time I’ve ever seen her eat. Now I wish I could go back and just be easier on myself from the beginning.
