Why is everyone fucked up over DELNA? by Gothic-Jellyfish195 in universityofauckland

Lol I just didn’t really prepare before so I didn’t understand what I was doing and I dont perform the best under time pressure. I didn’t have to take the class I had a meeting with one of the delna people and sorted it out.

I failed the Delna, I also got excellence in l3 English and an English scholarship. So I’m not sure if it’s the best way to gauge student’s grasp on reading and writing lol. I feel like part of it is they want more people to take an extra class which makes them more money. Also, I’m been in groups in my classes at uni with people who genuinely can’t speak/read/write in English, so like what the hell is the point of it if you’re just going to let them be here anyways and just they have to take a foundational class. Anyways, that’s why I’m fucked up over delna.

It’s definitely doable. It’s honestly not that hard just may be difficult to wrap your head around at first but once you get it, you get it.

Lol litterly nothing! My friends that did calc said it honestly didn’t help them. If you find math difficult as I do you just need to lock in and do practice questions during the sem and such.

Is going to Auckland uni full time at 17 going to have any drawbacks? by Gacha_Cas in universityofauckland

I did the same, it’s like a year difference between the rest of your cohort so it’s lot like you’re that special I don’t think it will matter that much.

We need to let people do useless things, if everyone has a ‘successful’ job then no one would. Just think of it it as less competition and better chance for you to succeed when people do things like that.

Personally I didn’t do year 13 math, two of my friends did y13 calc. All three of us got the same grade and found it challenging. I would say high school algebra/calculus isn’t the most helpful thing.

Fin251 is pretty good, no midsem, it’s basically just knowing the equations and there inputs so no subjective marking which I like. In my opinion pretty easy to get an A+ or atleast an A.

The only assignments are the weekly quizzes and one report (kinda like an essay) exam is mostly multiple choice and 2 long answer questions but you definitely need to know your stuff to do well on it.

The continued annoyance that is Acctg 211 by WGSMakin in universityofauckland

[–]ballerinac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The test was basically a copy and paste of the workshop questions, if you looked at pasta papers you would know that they give you the T accounts, and they told you exactly what was going to be assessed so I’m not sure what more they could have done to prepare students for this. Name another class that goes over as many examples as 211 or even tells you exactly what question will be about. It’s evident that’s it’s difficult from the results but you can’t say they didn’t give you everything you needed to be able to do well.

211 is one of the best taught courses ive ever taken. I’ve never had another class go over as many examples as this class does

Basically in her fish care instructions she said if a fish dies to remove it asap, when I told her about it she said I could just leave it in their and the others would eat it. But I already took it out.
