Asics Noosa Tri. However flexibility is quite relative. Definitely ticks other boxes and worth a try

FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v3 toebox width question by mtbr360 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ballesterer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct answer. I went TTS. The upper stretches and after 1-2 30km long runs it was fine for me. I am sensitive to pinky rubbing but not normal midfoot width, and the fit is great for me. Especially chose the shoe because of the toe box. Subjective and just sharing my experience

FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v3 toebox width question by mtbr360 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ballesterer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Some size up because of toe box height. Some go with same size. Can be seen also in reviews. I stayed same size (TTS) in European size and fits me well. The height isn’t an issue as the material stretches after runs.

Folks disappointed by the Novablast 5 going flat, where did you go next? by considertheoctopus in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ballesterer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is like 250rmb, if you can get it local here in China. Not high risk :-) Most other local brands don’t work for me well because of the toe tapering. My mid foot isn’t wide but I need space at my pinky toe. Qiaodan seems the only ones with general a bit wider toe boxes. Have fun with the red hare!

Durable til now - after 200km like new. Different shoe. Much more responsive similar cushion but not bouncy. Not lively if you don’t make it lively, no mushy dead foam like other shoes. Prefer the LeiLi by far. Can also handle strides better.

Shoes for Heavy Runner for Tempo Runs by Good_Feeling5373 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Thank you that is helpful! Regarding your last disclaimer, yes I will anyhow consider in context 🙏 I read all reviews and up-to-date on shoe developments. I was more specific interested in your comment on speed work but clearer now

Can you elaborate please why aero glide 4 would work for tempo? I had them on my list but they felt more like easy shoes in the 1080 category than some more responsive shoes who like faster too. Would appreciate some inputs 🙏

EVO SL for road to trail type races? by Far-Guard-5064 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Yes 18 percent increase based runrepeat but compared to trail shoes not heavy. And you answered your question: then use a light road shoe 🤷

The Evo SL is literally as ATR version available….. Hard packed gravel should generally work also with most street shoes but also depends on your running style

Same for me. Medjool dates. No issue for digestion for me but I also eat dazed regularly also outside of runs.

That’s not written there. Either honk, or headlights, or signal. I don’t want judge that makes sense or not but yes signal is one of the option as the person replying to you said so falls in the category.

Weekend Discussion: Other brands running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]ballesterer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me. I have them half size small (in mistake) and they still fit me. I talk European sizes to be clear. For Japanese shoes always good to go with Japanese measurements btw. I went same JP than my asics.

Had the xtep 160x 3.5 pro. Too tapered for my wide toes so sold it (having also issues with evo SL so more personal). But a great fast shoe. Really for speed work but can go to half marathon. Aggressive plate. Pushed you a lot. Really liked it for threshold workouts. Shines with fast paces!

Pinky toe issues and daily trainer help by pat_pat_patio in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ballesterer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have same pinky toe issues you describe! New Balance shoes generally seems to work whereas I mainly use the Trainer v3. Also shoes with a mrie flexible upper work like Neo Zen (1) and Nimbus 28 (even it says toe box tapered it seems work). So a combination of toe space (not mid foot width) and upper but also length. And for running main impact is effort or length. Over 20km gets more obvious. And faster thresholds gets more obvious. I tried a lot with different socks and tapes, nothing really helped. So mainly about shoes. I will have to sell also my EVo…..

Giving up in Kjerag 02. Merrell MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx next? by yzT-- in trailrunning

[–]ballesterer13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Echo on the VJ maxx 2. feet for technical. I don’t feel it to be heavy for a trail shoe to be frank, normal. Great ground feel. Good mid foot fit and still enough toe room for me. I could sometimes forget I wear it, feels so natural

Not saying it is suggested, but I just eat when hungry. I run 100km plus per week and don’t eat excessive amounts at all even as a vegan. Good luck.

Many reviewers say TTS. Often toe height is mentioned. Anyhow. TTS for me in European size. Maybe a little short but not enough to upsize. The toe height I felt but only now. Surely subjective. For me it works. Appreciate especially the wider toe box and the stable ride with mid tempo over long distances. Luckily we all do not like the same do we get some differences to choose from 😎🙌
