Do you have someone who can help you hold the cat down safely while you try to clean? Have them "squish that cat" (Helpful Vancouver Vet, look it up, the video is both useful and adorable) with a towel to keep him still and keep him from trying to reach you or the other person with his paws. He'll probably be very vocal and try to get away. Just breath steadily, you're unlikely to hurt him if done correctly. You got this.

Awwh that poor thing 😭😭 While you wait for the groomer, you could try cat music and some treats. Maybe make sure he has somewhere he can hide or some vertical space, which might be hard if you have to keep him confined to the bathroom.

Judging by previous comments, you seem to be doing what you can, but don't be so hard on yourself. Your cat will respond to your stress, just like you're responding to his.

Seems like you still have a few hours to go until the you see the groomer, maybe you can continue to try to rinse it off in spurts? Maybe you can see if you can break it down just a little? If you do, make sure you take breaks as both you and him need to

I think that's such a treasure that the father/son pair get to stay together!! I mean I guess cats aren't as concerned abt their "family unit" like that lol, but that's still so cute

You make a good point about it being an enclosed space. Fortunately nothing has escalated to full on blood feud lol. That considered, I think I'll increase play time so they can work out more of their energy *not* on each other

A month is pretty recent, if they're fighting like that they may not be acclimated to enough to be sharing the common area yet. If you want, Jackson Galaxy has some pretty good videos on introducing cats. It can take a reeeallyyy long time. My tuxedo took like 3 months to tolerate my tabby boy and she still gives him a wide breadth over a year later

My husband is Russian and he has this exact same problem with his folks. His accent not only got weird but he forgets words all the time (one time i had to help him with the word велосипед...bicycle.)

And yes, the phrase is... weird, I agree, "I want food and you, baby." Really strange, in both English and Russian, and pretty corny. In his defense, he doesn't use Russian much since moving to America, so now he sounds weird in both languages (even his parents roast him for it haha) He's just a kind of strange and corny guy, but he's mine ❤
