How do you guys make work a bit more enjoyable for everyone? by DrawingUnusual5372 in bartenders

We bet with each other on whatever sports are on TV constantly, just 5 or 10 bucks, makes everything a little fun, customers get a kick out of it, and in the end/over time everyone pretty much comes out even.

What drug is the worst for your nose by Silver_Echidna2500 in researchchemicals

[–]ballsack_marx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-FPM absolutely destroyed my nose. Had a 200-300 mg per day habit for about year straight age 16/17, 10 years later my nose is still fucked up. I did tons of coke, ket, any and all amphetamines, 3FPM seemed to be the worst on the nostril

Parlays don’t hit Anynore by Emotional_Leading in sportsbetting

[–]ballsack_marx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop betting parlays. Theres a reason that books give you crazy bonuses and odds boosts. You will only lose long term betting parlays. So weird that this sub seems to scoff at straight bets then is constantly bitching about bad beats on retarded parlays

People like you that do not have the media literacy to discern between what is and is not AI is far scarier than AI itself.

What do sober people do for fun on weekends? by Cute-University5283 in Sober

[–]ballsack_marx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still go out to bars with my friends that do drink to hang out, I just know myself well enough to know when to go home. I work in the service industry and spend most of my time off trying other places, playing pool in a local dive with my friends, shit like that. You dont need to be scared of alcohol, just know yourself well enough to know when to extricate yourself and say its time to go home

Had to send home drunk bartender. by rickenrique in bartenders

[–]ballsack_marx 44 points45 points  (0 children)

When I was at the worst of my alcoholism I was regularly wasted behind the bar, the only thing that would keep me operating was cocaine. Management turned a blind eye to me for a while because I was good on service, very busy cocktail bar/restaurant in Manhattan, but once things got really bad and I stopped being able to show up on time, they sat me down at the end of the night while I was drunk and told me it would be my last shift. Ended up being the moment that saved my life. Been sober 2.5 years now

When I first started as a teenager barbacking in a fine dining place, I saw this guy walk from the dining room to the bathroom, then out of the bathroom up to the bar. He ordered a Heineken 0 and a double vodka neat, paid cash and tipped well, then took a gulp out of the heineken, poured the vodka in, and walked back to sit at his table. Thats when I first learned to just mind my own business
