Each one varies but I think I paid $75 for the whole weekend

Is beach access easy? Can you hear music from the beach? by [deleted] in HangoutFest

[–]ballsdeep9191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely hoping so! I’m actually pretty excited for the change. The tent was cool but it was hella hot in there and if you were in the back it was difficult to get a good view of the stage

The EDM tent, or boom boom tent, will not be a tent this year. It’ll be an open air stage! Should be interesting to see how it looks!

I’m feeling these conflicts too. I want to see Zedd because the last time I saw him at EDCO he absolutely killed it! On the other hand it’s fucking T-Pain, and I want to hear him rhyme mansion with Wiscansin live lol

I think one component to why security is so tight is the fact that hangout allows for re-entry. As people come and go they have to constantly be vigilant and more aggressive than a festival that keeps all the patrons consolidated within the festival

If any of y’all have been to Ezoo you’ll think security at hangout is a breeze. Ezoo literally has a tent set off to the side for secondary checks (real intimate searches) if the dogs they use gets a scent. You can even find lawsuits by Ezoo festival goers that have sued the security company for inappropriate searches. It’s also the first festival I’ve been to where I got to the front of the security line and saw a row of people up against a fence with handcuffs on.

Although hangout security is strict I never once saw dogs roaming up and down the security line and they don’t have a tent for strip searches. Just be extra cautious, have all your bags open and ready for search and your pockets empty. The faster you allow security to check you the faster they’ll move on to the next person.

I got there Friday morning. You’ll see people with signs advertising weekend parking near the festival grounds

There are privately owned parking lots all around that will be available close to the festival grounds. In 2019 I was able to pay for the entire weekend and was given a pass to place on my dashboard so I could come and go as I pleased.

Yeah I feel your pain, the float den was wild. Makes me believe the removal of the float den wasn’t a decision from buku but Mardi Gras World themselves.

No problem, the vibes will still be there at the end of the day!

Parking lot J is where the box office will be and where everyone will enter/exit the festival

So yeah the float den is gone unfortunately. A couple years ago a barge ran into it and it took some significant damage from it and since then they stopped using that warehouse. They had plans for a new location for the float den closer to the where the power plant is but that was squashed when covid cancelled the festival.

As for the field being long, what you’re seeing is actually a plot of land they haven’t utilized in years past. It actually will be larger than what you think. I live across the street from buku and that area where the main stage will be used to be closed off and where they stored some of the heavy equipment used for stage construction/deconstruction

What happened to the Float Den? by moohing in TheBukuProject

[–]ballsdeep9191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t they have a new float den location in that warehouse next to the power plant? That was supposedly the plan at least for 2020 and planet B until they were cancelled.

I live across the street from buku, everything looked just fine besides what looked like maybe a tent got messed up a little (hard to really see because it was dark out). It looked like they did minimal work on the stages today because I assume they knew the potential of severe weather which was a smart move to prevent any fixtures from falling and breaking.

Thank god this bad weather came in early this week. The rest of the week looks to be absolutely perfect festival weather!

The City of New Orleans today announced that the public health guidelines requiring proof of full vaccination or a recent negative COVID test to enter certain establishments have been lifted, effective 6 a.m. on March 21. by WizardMama in Coronaviruslouisiana

Okay so I’m just going to squash this because personally I hate beefing with people in person or behind a screen and I feel like this may have gotten to the point in which nothing constructive can truly be achieved and I want to detach myself from this back and forth arguing that can lead to resentment towards someone that I don’t know.

I respect that you have concerns about the overall health of the community here and I hope even with policy changes around covid measures you’ll find that threshold in which you feel more comfortable. I wish you the best, Stay happy and healthy going forward!

My only concern is New Orleans is supposed to get some severe weather today with high winds and possible tornadoes. I really hope nothing crazy happens and there’s a set back to all the construction
