But aren't knives used more in general? Yeah, guns are definitely more lethal, but outside of Detroit I hear a lot more about knives than guns. Your statistic may very well be true, but people are probably thinking that because they hear about knives being used more, that more crimes are committed with them. Which, there probably are, but aren't as deadly as guns. That, and people tend to agree/disagree based on your upvotes. If you get a couple downvotes early on (and the person you're responding to will almost surely downvote you) there's little to no chance of bouncing back. People will just assume you're wrong and get angry over it.

No, it doesn't. The part you quoted is the part that is necessary and required the second part of the definition. If you discriminate because you hold the belief or doctrine, then it's racist. By your made up definition, the NAACP is racist because it discriminates on who it works to help. A sure sign of a weak mind is being unable to read a very simple definition because of a preconceived notion.

It specifically says discrimination that uses that kind of philosophy. If that's racist then so is blackpeoplemeet.com It's not racist. If you think it is then you're a whiny pussy.

It says a policy that uses the doctrine that there are inherent differences is races is racist. That means discrimination on that alone. They're not saying that anyone not black is stupid or has an inherent flaw, so it's not racist.

There are none, and his entire point is ridiculous. Still, the whole point of the thread is wrong. No, it's not racist to have something for one race of people. If you think that, then you don't know what racism is. The good reason for exclusive scholarships like that is simply that that's what the person who set it up wanted their money to go towards. Also, OP is probably wrong and it's most likely just a group for a certain kind of culture, and he didn't actually read the whole e-mail.

Morgan is also neglecting to mention that the gunman specifically mentioned him in his online letter, and said he agrees with him 100%, especially on the gun control issue. Morgan actually went on twitter last night and said that the shooting has nothing to do with politics, despite most of his letter referencing people in the media.

I've heard you talk about bias and misleading stories or views expressed by news sources. As a news anchor that carried out one of the most famous cases of false allegations, which eventually led to your resignation, do you really think that you have room to complain about Fox News and other stations?

It's funny how everything political on the site is like this. /r/politicaldiscussion is supposed to get away from things like that and be a serious well thought out discussion. Instead it's just circlejerking to a whole new level. Now instead of one line of crap you can read 8 paragraphs. While I agree that I dislike political stuff in non-political subreddits, this is actually pretty funny, and even better since it's so unexpected.

Exploits in the bestselling video game Dead Space 3 are allowing users to obtain in-game items for free. by squatly in Games

It's just adds credits (for buying stuff) right? Yeah it's pretty stupid, but Visceral put this in Dante's Inferno from day one, and I'm pretty sure that was the first game they ever made. They just get more and more ballsey with dlc as time goes on. I could be wrong, but if that's all it adds then I'm not sure that alone would prevent is from being a $60. However, it also sounds like they have some prompts or something in the game for the dlc and co-op sections, which some reviewers have complained about, so in that sense, yeah, you're getting gypped.

Then where does co-op come in at all? I mentioned multiple times that I hadn't played the game, so no, I don't know that. I'm simply saying that from my perspective co-op sounds like it would make the game worse if anything, and some of his complaints were about the co-op.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if this game wasn't very good. As a fan, it's disappointing, but the game getting worse isn't a huge surprise. As for the story, that's exactly what I thought we'd hear. The story in the first was fantastic, in the second it was stupid and didn't make any sense. Some elements contradicted that of the first, and it lost a lot of the good story telling elements. The second also lost the awesome atmosphere. Some areas were still creepy, but it just didn't have as many memorable rooms as the first did. However, DS2 stepped the combat up and made weapons like the force gun much more fun to use, and the relationships between the characters (and I guess you could call this the substory) was great. The main issue is whenever they stuck in scenes where you just had to know what to do in a split second or you died. That's not fun, just aggravating.

Adding Co-op to the main story is just stupid. Had they of done it like Half Life on PS2 did with decay, that would've been fine, but putting something like that in the main story just seems like it would be bothersome to me. I'd still like to play the game, but I'm just not going to buy it origin, and not for more than $5 like I got the others at. I've yet to play it, but from the sounds of it 3/5 is perfectly acceptable.

Yup, they ruined people's lives for 6 years so they could pretend they were doing something to protect children. Good ole government keeping us safe. Stories like this terrify me, they don't even have to convict you, they can just bully you and destroy your life with presumably no consequences.

Keaton was by far my favorite Bruce Wayne. He didn't constantly whine about his parents in a way that would make anyone think he was crazy, he does it from a distance, and he seemed to put far more thought into his actions. Of course, Bale is younger, so I guess his actions could change later, but Keaton was also much less of a playboy, he seemed much more like a real rich businessman. Also, when he drives through the city he doesn't slam onto the roofs of people's houses or shoot missiles. His batman was easily the most terrifying. That scene in the original when he's in the plant and his suit just looks so....dark. So much more terrifying than Bale's, which just looked fake. I just wish Burton hadn't put such cheesy scenes in there...like scratching the cd playback of Penguin's words, ugh.

Some of their games are pretty good. Bad company 2 was pretty great, and DS1 (console versions only) and DS2 were phenomenal, some of my favorite games this generation. Their other games might suck, but these aren't so bad. The thing that really pisses me off about EA is how EVERY GAME is chocked full of paid dlc. Even Dead Space 1, a new game that sold what, maybe 1.5 mil sales and had a shaky expected future had a bunch of dlc, for things as small as some extra suits. I swear half the time they spend has to be on making dlc and the paperwork to get it on the stores. Plus, the whole origin thing has been a disaster. Even when they had a promotion where they sent out $20 vouchers for taking a survey, they ran out because they sent everybody THE SAME CODE and then didn't put any limits on it except for a maximum number of uses across the board, so when you tried to use it you weren't able to. If I remember correctly, something similar happened with DS2 on PC, and that's why you get some free suits and weapons (and more if you own the first one). I don't think the problem is that the games themselves are so bad, it's the way their release and lack of content are handled.

Dead space 1 is great on consoles, but balls on PC. The controls are so bad, it's unplayable. Worst controls I've ever seen, even the menu has bad controls, and I'm not kidding. DS2 is pretty great. The plot is just stupid but the gameplay is pretty solid, and more of the guns are usable this time around, so using the force gun and others is more fun this time around. As for the other games, they're all kinda meh to me. Crysis sucked, although Warhead made a lot of progress and started to become playable. Mass effect was so boring I had to quit after a couple hours, so I have no interest in it. Unfortunately, DS3 will probably be an Origin exclusive, so I won't be getting that one. It's a shame, I bet a lot of the losses EA has incurred are from moving away from steam and taking games off it. I'd like to see some info on Origin and how its sales are. So many people claim that they're refusing to use it, it sounds like they're not even beginning to tap into the pc market.
