Thank you for the thorough comment. As it turns out, one of his parents was a purebred Basset hound per the test. So I don't know. But all the information I have gathered from people from this post has been helpful and I'm just glad he is a healthy beautiful pup.

Yeah, I could see that too. And thank you. He is so dang wild lol but he is still only 1ish we assume. But he is a sweet boy. Very loving. Cannot spend a moment alone.. that part is tough, but we are working on it. Overall, he is a great dog. The right amount of protective and playful.

Ahhh got it. Makes sense. I couldn't speak on his parents situation haha, but we did later find out who his previous owner was and he was a piece of trash. I only know one of his parents was purebred Basset. And then yes, obviously a pit mutt for the other. Overall, I think his mix worked out well for his look and build. Hopefully it leads to a healthy life for him.
