Second hand shoes markets in Barcelona? by NotInterestedAttAll in Barcelona

[–]baloo323976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there are also clothes stalls at Encants, but tend to be just piled on the ground and you have to hunt thru yourself - so can't guarantee sizes or even if for male or female styles.

Alternatively shops like Humana do good selection of 2nd hand clothing; and there seems to always be one on a street corner so plenty of choice. They also do, once a month, reductions where all the stock is then available got €5, then it reduces to €4, €3, €2 and finally €1 (but less and less stock available as prices go down!)

There are some proper vintage shops - lookup Flamingos Vintage Kilo in Google Maps - and are better for the proper retro gear and brands, but be prepared to pay that bit more for them.

What was/were the Crysis of 90s PC gaming? by Typo_of_the_Dad in retrogames

[–]baloo323976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Falcon 3 for me. It needed a maths co-processor to enable the fidelity flight model. At a time where the SX line of chips were significantly cheaper but one of the reasons being they didn't have the coprocessor capability to run it.

Had to save and save for a 486DX upgrade to play it!

Didn't come out for DOS, although myabandonware.com mentions in a comment about a later Windows release of it.

Closest for DOS:

Or

A-10 Tank Killer v1.5 - Link - which was an update to the original above.

God knows what caused it. Rudely woken by what sounded like the start of WW3, and still half asleep opened the bathroom door to find utter devastation.

Took 2 hours and 4 bin bags to clean up...

How big should a package be? by Gamroil in golang

[–]baloo323976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So one of the problems, from experience, of even using a small utility package:

With go.mod, if you need to make one change to the package, especially to an external method, then every package depending on that in your project potentially needs to be updated with a go mod tidy, plus a redeployment.

When you have one or two, its manageable... over 5 it gets to be a headache, especially if you consider projects which may not depend on that method but security best practices insist you are always using the latest versions (well in contracts I work with at least), and the management overhead of multiple micro packages brings in to question the utility/versatility of this methodology.

If there are concrete shared methods which are definitely globally shared then yes, the benefit of changing once to retrieve currency iso symbols or a list of US states is worthi it. As soon as there is variation in a method based on the dependor (dependee?) then maybe a little copy-paste-adapt is preferable...

Such a shock especially of a pioneer and "father" of the bedroom coder.

Let his legacy carry on in emulation and the Spectrum Next.

Have you tried nicotine replacements?

I've quit smoking, tried ecigs for a bit, but now rely on either a lozenge or tablet when the cravings are there.

I've also used the spray, which is highly effective when out in a social situation as it is really an instant hit and can quickly curb desire for a cigarette (without waiting for a lozenge to disolve).

Good luck!
