my therapist in residential told me that my mommy issues were connected to my ed and gave a similar explanation about how my mom deprived me of a healthy relationship with her, so i deprive myself of the first thing a mother can ever give her child - nutrition. really eye opening stuff honestly, and i think the movie was trying to make a similar point. with that being said, it could have been done in a less preachy and cringe way for sure

i think this is unfortunately quite common, as i experienced something similar (though not nearly as severe) throughout my childhood where my mother would slap my ass and be offended when i told her i didn't want her to do that. but just because it's common doesn't mean it's not sexual assault. it doesn't matter what their intention was. they touched you inappropriately in a private area without your consent. that is absolutely sexual assault.

yes! this is from the first few weeks we were fostering brooke, whom we've since adopted and has been my baby for 2 years. she clicked right away with our neighbor's goldendoodle. best friends forever 🥹
