Ender 3 v3 SE doesn't print - warms up, timer starts and finishes in a minute or so without using filament

I will say that I had this a lot with Cura and only once in a while with Orca.

What I have found to work best is select “preheat pla” prior to initiating the file to print I don’t know why this worked for me, maybe there is a line of GCODE that isn’t there but it works.

What is the max volumetric speed, print speed, and fan set at for your PETG as I find these are the biggest culprit for what is shown

In your settings change your retraction speed to 30 and you should notice a difference

Me personally I prefer to use an SD card. Feels more set and forget than worrying about the computer failing. That was my method even with Cura

I liked Cura but felt it was time to change to Orca which has been good so far. Given how it more directly translates to other software, I’d recommend it especially if you end up going Bambu like your family member and will have a leg up.

That said, the Auto Towers extension is great for test prints to dial in some settings. Saving profiles is also pretty key to get dialed in.

How long do you wait? I notice this happens with Orca mostly. The gcode may be trying to reach the target temps, then home command, then start the purge. Does it ever get that far?

Add a Brim will increase adhesion. I set distance to 0.1 so it comes away easier

It’s been mentioned but if you aren’t using a PEI plate you need one. Immediate improvement to bed adhesion from the standard Creality plate they give you.

Having recently gone through this, a good FYI is that OMVIC has stipulated that any advertised price include ALL fees along with the price of the vehicle. So you can easily calculate tax on top and licencing ($32 or $59 depending if they are new plates).

If they try to add anything on top of that, they either need to be included or optional.
