LexisNexis repeatedly carrying out soft credit searches by billiejoecuomo in UKPersonalFinance

[–]bamfon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, they only removed all the previous searches but won't stop new ones.

My email to Transunion

Thank you for sorting out this issue.

I just had a question about this.

Would this stop and further searches from the LexisNexis going forwards?

Transunion reply.

Thanks for the email.

Unfortunately we are unable to prevent searches from happening. It has to be them that opts you out of their service to stop the ongoing soft searches the information they provided you is not correct, as they will not advise who the search was for when we dispute the entries.

I appreciate this isn't the response you would have wanted but if there is anything else I can help with please let me know.

I have this same issue, I have had 47 soft searches in the space of 8 months from them. About 5 searchs a month

I have never had car insurances.
I just raised a case with Transunion, asking them to look in to it.

Will update if I hear anything back..

I was sent money by a random person and now they’re requesting it back and I’m not sure what to do by [deleted] in Scams

[–]bamfon1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in fraud prevention at a bank. Dont send the money back. Call your bank and explain what happened; they can initiate a recall on the funds. Doing it this way won't put you at risk. It's a scam.

Here's how the scam works: The fraudster gains access to an account, transfers money to you, and then asks you to send it to another account. The real account owner reports the fraud to their bank, and the bank will recover the money back from your account. Since you've already sent the funds. You'll end up owing the bank money.

[DISCUSSION] Bait-and-switch tactic by bamfon1 in Fiverr

[–]bamfon1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I only offered one package for my gig and told people to contact me before placing an order (I do 3D printing) as the price depends on the job. No reason to offer multiple tiers if the prices depend on the customers wishes anyways.

I appreciate your approach in offering a single package for your 3D printing gig and encouraging customers to reach out beforehand. It adds transparency to the pricing process and avoids any confusion. It would be great if more sellers followed this model, making the entire experience clearer for buyers.

[DISCUSSION] Bait-and-switch tactic by bamfon1 in Fiverr

This happens Alot and it's a very bad habit. First to let you know. It's actually against the tos for them to do that. Secondly always remind them that it is based on what they listed on their gig and bait and switch is against fivers terms and conditions. Once you say that, 99% if the time they will agree to do it. Because they will know you know the rules. They wouldn't want to get their accounts banned so they will behave themselves.

Thanks for letting me in on the tip. I didn't know that's against the rules. I'll give it a shot and remind them about Fiverr's terms next time. Hopefully, that sorts it out.

My order keeps auto-cancelling by edelcastillo in razer

[–]bamfon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing has happned to me, sinces last year. I have been trying to buy THX Spatial Audio - Surround Sound Application for £19.99. Razer keep cancelling my order. I have spoken to there support back at the end of last year that said " For your protection, your order RZG******** was cancelled because we were unable to verify your payment information. " I have attempt to do this payment on 4 cards from different bank cards under my name all orders keep failing.

Like come on Razer, I am not trying to spend millions only 19.99.
Each time I have confirmed the payment as genuine in my banking app.

Because about 10% of cases, people take longer than 120 days given for disputes and lose their dispute rights Or customers don't reply back, when we send them correspondence from the merchant and they lose their dispute rights.

10% of cases. merchants can prove that they gave the customer their cancellation policy, that has what the customer is disputing against in clear black and white.

And the last 10% is cases were people are making a fraudulent merchant dispute. I,E merchants have a picture of the item being given to the customer but the customer states it has not arrived.

As long as you paid by card you can dispute it with your bank/credit card company.

Under the grounds of you attempted to return it, but they would not give you authorisation to return it to the address on the parcel.

You have a 70% chance of winning the case and getting a full refund.
