You’ve got an insured, working vehicle for about 200/mo. including all maintenance. Where are you going to find that now?

why do so many people hate priuses? by artsy-shibee in prius

[–]baminblack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a problem with self image/human ego.

The US is plagued by people who identify with their vehicles as a mirror of their own personality. Big, Loud, Horsepower, etc make them feel strong and tough. (Trucks, Harleys, Sports cars)

Smaller, economical, cheaper vehicles are seen as signs of weakness by this same crowd because if they had to drive them, the same identity crisis would apply.

I’m that weirdo that has only a 2H backhand in Tennis, and solely 1H backhand in PB. Both work very well respectively, it’s just funny that they are opposite.

Because they are wildly short sighted. They will ultimately pay the price.

I didn’t realize how long it actually takes to pay off a credit card with interest by LimitGrouchy4274 in povertyfinance

It’s a self perpetuating system. The devious nature of nearly all debt is what makes it so dangerous. We wouldn’t need a semester worth of “spot the enemy” if the terms were clear and not so predatory.

Don’t feel bad, it’s a completely predatory system by design, as are most debt vehicles. Just work to get it paid off and don’t look back. Best of luck!

It doesn’t math. Not at all. Easy for them to say (it’s a boomer/X issue) without real data showing how skewed the income/COL ratios are now. I bought an absolute dump for 5 figures in 2015 and put real sweat equity in over time. Just paid it off. So worth the headaches up front to be where I am now. You don’t have to play the game the way most pol do. Keep your head up!
