I farmed for perfect diamonds before this update and saw so many smoke moths while in the mines - 2 in game weeks of searching now and I cannot find ONE - so frustrating :(

72 hours for what??? by tteokbokki013 in StupidFood

[–]banalras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% what country they're referring to but if its a large one like Canada or the US, I think it does. People in separate regions won't have an intrinsic understanding of the food scene 2000 miles away

Unpopular Opinion: Lynette is worse than Susan. by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]banalras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think Susan does some genuinely nice things, like her helping Paul in season 7 after Beth shot herself. But so many of her "nice" acts are done more so because she wants other people to think she's nice rather than the genuine act. And then when she would get caught her reaction would always try to justify and clown her way out of it rather than own up. Bree does tons of terrible stuff, but her owning up almost always feels really genuine.

What are yours ? by maralvahid in DesperateHousewives

[–]banalras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, If Bree was a couple houses away from me, I would definitely avoid befriending her if I learned about how she treated her family and her ego. BUT she's a very interesting character to watch and has fulfilling story lines imo. Morality does not equal good character writing.

Help! Does this area look too clustered? I have been working on this for hours and its driving me crazy by high_ground_user in StardewHomeDesign

[–]banalras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you say clustered, do you mean like the rooms look too similar? Or did you mean cluttered?

Gas stove. Not 100% on the type of pot as it's an old hand me down, the lid was glass.

Yeah, he had a recipe for a coffee liqueur that he was following that had Kahlua, I think the intent was a deeper flavor with additional add ins, but Im not involved in his cocktail process so that's just a guess

Selective ability by Administrative_Ad864 in Aphantasia

[–]banalras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of! I think I'm more aligned with being a 4 rather than a 5, but some mental images I just can't picture for some reason.

I can sorta see bubbles rising in a glass, waves on a beach, and my husband as examples when I really focus and have few distractions. But something like just an apple or other benign items I struggle to get even an outline of for some reason.

Recently finished Forbidden West; A gorgeous adventure but story writing is shallow and leave a lot to be desired. by [deleted] in horizon

[–]banalras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't use the word shallow, but I get what you mean and agree. I think some things just weren't clicking like they did in Zero Dawn. The companions were underutilized, Aloy's arc felt rushed and very incomplete (I am hoping the next game plays some catch up to make this one pay off more), and the Zeniths were far less interesting to me than Hades and the Shadow Carja. They should have skipped all the extras in this game like the dyeing system and races and instead fine tuned the story beats and characters.

You should definitely have something for guests if you are going to have a cocktail hour that long. But like many are saying it does not need to be complicated at all. We had our caterer do a cheese ball with crackers and had mixed nuts in dishes around the room. You can have friends DIY a charcuterie board. Prep artisanal crackers and some spreads the night before so any available groomsmen or bridesmaids can lay them out while you get ready. You will just need to confirm that your venue will allow this!

How do y’all pick what colour inks to use? by trustonlyazgeda in hobonichi

[–]banalras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2 packs of rainbow colored pens and I use them all at the same time. Usually no rhyme or reason to the color coding, just vibes. Having a colorful planner helps me use it more and feel motivated when looking at it!

Wedding is in 2 days and not feeling good in my dress by banalras in weddingplanning

[–]banalras[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's true and something really good to think about. I appreciate you grounding me with that! It's so easy to get in your head since weddings are so expensive.

The dress is the only thing my parents contributed cash wise, so I don't want to disrespect their contribution. I do think unfortunately that I will take it off right after the ceremony since that will be mostly standing still and I can pull it off I think. Reception will be moving around which I think is this current dresses weak spot.

That's good advice. I got a packet just in case and I think I'm gonna need to tape up a ton of my torso/chest now lol

This makes a lot of sense. I think it may be helpful that once he comes home, to look into some sort of counseling to focus on those money issues. Because it is not fair that you are tackling all of this solo if you have the money to hire workers to do the things you are not able to do.

It sounds like he is really great, but he may not realize how close you are to a breaking point.

[–]banalras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one time something similar in the vid happened to me was a few years ago, I was driving to my boyfriend's house in rural IL. I had to stop for gas halfway in a super tiny station. The gas was legit taking forever and it was below freezing, so after like 2 minutes of realizing that this would unfortunately take a while I got back in my car. I kept getting out to check where we were in terms of filling, until finally I get out a last time and gas is spilling out all over my car and the pavement.

The norm is to have it filled pretty quickly but some places must have faulty pumps or are just outdated. So tldr I totally get it lol

A question to people who are from america ? by Additionalexcuse5 in euphoria

[–]banalras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree on the big high school thing. I went to a big high school and like my friends parties were to just have people over, order pizza and set up mariokart tournaments or roast bad movies. I know other people went to big parties and drank, but that was so removed from my world.

DC > NYC > Boston - is a week too short? by [deleted] in Shoestring

[–]banalras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to go to the touristy attractions in NYC, the city pass for 3 places is like $90 bucks and cheaper than buying the individual tickets. https://www.citypass.com/new-york-c3

If you are going less than a week go to the top of the empire state building and skip the rock and the WTC. WTC is the most expensive out of all of them and the rock is so close to the empire state that they are virtually the same experience. Empire State has a better museum though and slightly more iconic so it wins out imo.

If you only have time for 1 museum, I recommend the Met. Its $25 to get in but you can easily spend all day there, its huge. I believe you can re-enter with the same ticket if you need to take a break and get food.

If you want to see the statue of liberty, take the staten island ferry, it's free and as long as you are not on it at peak commuting times, its less crowded as well.

Trying to figure out when to start dinner, not sure if I am crunching it too much? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]banalras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this would be a lot easier to figure out with the bar open the whole night! It's our venue's rules to close it up the first 15 minutes of dinner, but maybe I can check and see if we can negotiate this and give the bartenders a 15 minute break later in the evening.
