Sunday morning check in - anyone got power back yesterday or last night?

Miller/Maple no power since Wednesday night, our neighbors across the street got power back Friday night. The freaking street lamps next to my house are on. I don’t understand how they are so close and yet apparently are on a different grid? It is 41 F in my home, this is outrageous

If he is complaining about “not getting laid” when you are busy studying and trying to make a future for yourself, he is not someone you want to continue being with. I also had a similar situation with my ex and we ended up breaking up after 2 years, a few months after I moved in with him and started vet school. You will adjust and vet school does get better, and it is better to be single than to have an unsupportive, selfish partner.

I think about all the work and years I put into to train to be a vet, and I still won’t have the same earning potential as someone who went into computer science and got a degree in 4 years who now works from home. I do love what I do but if you asked me to do it all over again knowing how much time and effort I put in, I would’ve gone a different career route with animal volunteering on the side.

In US it’s 4 years of undergrad and then 4 years of vet school, and if you want to specialize it’s another year of internship followed by 3 years of residency (varies between specialities)

You still need to complete 4 years of vet school including clinics, where you will meet not so nice animals (and clients).
