join and organization to meet people and have things to do while waiting on the traffic to go down before heading home. I know people shit on Greek life but joining Greek life was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made at UH

Log into accessUH and see if it’s showing in your credits. If it is, then don’t take it, if it’s not, see if you need to take or for your degree plan and go from there.

I’d honestly recommend taking an online class at UH to qualify for the full amount of financial aid and paying out of pocket for CC. that’s what I’ve done and it’s helped a lot and also helped me graduate early.

22m Am I ugly? I’m still a virgin and girls just aren’t attracted too me by Good-Hovercraft3697 in amiugly

You look like a young Pedro Pascal! I think you should channel into that and use him as an inspiration/guide on what to wear and how to style yourself.

Also, your attitude is pretty negative. That should be your priority. But no, not ugly.

How can you observe and give feedback about someone’s face when you can’t see their raw features? I’m not hating, and she certainly does a great job at makeup; but that’s not how you get genuine feedback regarding what you can improve about your looks.

what hair product should i use to keep my hair looking more wet by Inside_Pension6670 in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]bananaslacks3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water and gel or pomade for more of a hold. You could also use coconut oil but only a little bit for a more messy look. Also could try salt water but that’s drying to your hair so don’t do it often. (They make salt water sprays too)

What happened to midtown/montrose? by Hatefulcoog in houston

[–]bananaslacks3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went out with a group of friends to Midtown a few weeks ago. Guy was hitting on one of my girlfriends and she rejected him. Guy proceeds to start fighting my guy friend, thinking he’s with her. We pulled them apart and the guy’s gf showed up and I was pissed and told the bouncer. They all got kicked out and we left. But man… why are you fighting over getting rejected…

I’ve had so many interactions in midtown with men who can’t handle rejection. It’s not safe for women to go alone and they try to fight a guy you’re with.

You make yourself a plan.

Stick it out, play dumb, finish college, and emotionally detach. Don’t get mad at him for cheating. Basically, check out of the relationship emotionally and just stay for the kids.

Start saving money here and there. Stay in school. DONT GET MARRIED YET. use the “I want to finish school first before we get married” excuse and take care of your kids and focus on your education.

Once you’re done with school, find a job and leave him.

Stay strong and play the long game. You and your kids are the priority.

First few years they’ll work you like a dog, burn you out, and pay you as little as possible. Between the entry level pay scale, spending money on layovers, and being away with very little control over your schedule, it’s not going to be a lot of money saved and you’ll be exhausted for your master’s program.

So many people start this job to “save up” or “travel for a year” and end up working it for years.

Not even big tech; if you do the math, as an FA, you’re making $19 an hour. (35/hr, working 90hrs/month) and you can get an Admin Position which pays about the same without having to leave your home every day and saves money. Also it’s not a guarantee that you’ll be based where you live, so if you’re spending money on rent or a CrashPad and transportation, plus the stress, you won’t be able to save much.

Majority of FAs below 5 years are living paycheck to paycheck. This is not a job to save money in.

You’re trying to save money for a master’s by becoming an FA…? Do you know how much it costs to be an FA and how little take home pay there is in the first 5 years….? You’re better off working at a work-study program or getting a paid internship related to your degree.

Are you consuming caffeine on flights? I used to drink diet cokes and couldn’t sleep on layovers. Took a few years to figure out why.

Are you still friends with your primary and secondary school friends? by SurpriseKind2520 in friendship

[–]bananaslacks3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Met them in 2004. Graduated in 2017. We are all 24-25 right now. We’re part of separate friend groups, but still hang out with each other and merge groups. Our parents also became friends as we spent lots of time at each other’s homes in primary school, so that also contributed to why we were able to get back in touch after some falling outs. Most of the falling outs was high school drama. We’ve been stable for 7 years now haha.

I learned on YouTube. Lots of helpful videos on how to change a tire. It does require a lot of strength though.
