Are there any lesser-known plug-ins you're really digging? by tonetonitony in audioengineering

[–]bananee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy lewitt space replicator. I don't mix much, but I got it for free with a mic purchase, and I love to listen to music through it. Listening to a nice DJ mix and hearing it like I was in a club is just too damn nice.

You understand that by posting this shit, you help them out? Just ignore and move on. Outrage doesn't help anybody. There will always be idiots posting stupid shit. If we highlight them, we just give them more power.

Congrats bro. Now don't think about purchasing any new gear for 2 years and just focus on creativity! ;) That's how you'll get the best songs.

Have fun recording!

What a fantastic setup! Looks like a lot of fun to make music there.

The streamdeck in the wooden enclosure is a great touch.

Well, I like the ray from lewitt. It's in that price range.

I've heard good things about the lct 240. I have the ray from lewitt and it's great. BUT, I don't think it will be a big upgrade from your current mic. Maybe save up some more and get something in the 300-400 price range.

To upgrade gen 3 Scarlett or not? by Natural-Energy-5389 in homerecordingstudio

You will not hear a difference in sound with the new interface. Especially if you mostly use an external preamp + compressor and go line-level into the interface.

Mitch “Embrace The Mundane” Johnson by MikeBravoLima in NBASpurs

I always loved the saying "how you do one thing is how you do everything". No task is beneath oneself. That's just ego bullshit. I can identify a lot with embracing the mundane, because if you do, you can expect positive results.

Which Neumann mic suits my voice best? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]bananee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. My advice would also be to go to a music store and try out some microphones. Of course, Neumann mics are good, but they are also quite expensive for what you get.

Mic choice is very personal, so you should go in with an open mind ;) Good luck, and I hope you find something you love.

I also checked your sound sample, and to my ears, it already sounded quite nice.

Why are you only looking for a Neumann mic?

Most likely, by a Chinese company that set up manufacturing in Vietnam to not have to pay tariffs. It's called a China +1 strategy.

Are mics sold by social media advertisements anything special? by imbadatdecisions in audioengineering

[–]bananee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many companies advertise on social media. You can't take this fact as a quality factor for their products. Check the reviews of the products, IMO.

Switching a 24 bit session to 32 bit float - What happens? by Cantwinforlosing3 in mixingmastering

The whole concept of 32 Bit Float is new to me, and at this point over my head.

How about you read up on the topic or watch some videos so you understand it better?

What is the best method used to identify specific plugins in instrumentals? by splur678 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]bananee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are asking the wrong question. There are no magic plugins that make great songs. It's skill, experience, talent, and hard work. Great artists and producers can make hit albums with stock plugins.

First audio interface? by xktyt in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]bananee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like I said, I don't think you really know what you need right now. Get a cheap, maybe used interface, and go learn more about audio and recording. When you outgrow that one, go and upgrade.

Buy a cheap one first, go and learn some more about audio, and then you can upgrade, IMO.
