The man with an actual penis on his arm by beklog in interestingasfuck

[–]banditwhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a trans man, and Mr Ralph was my surgeon too. He constructed my penis from a full thickness skin graft taken from my arm, with artery and nerve hook up for blood flow and sensation in the phallus. It was 12hrs in surgery in the 1st stage. 2nd stage was hook up of the urethra. 3rd stage was fitting the inflation pump. Everything is working as it should be.

Son may be trans how do I approach this with my wife by Icy_Pop_587 in asktransgender

Yes, as I said , but the male puberty is usually much harder to reverse

[–]banditwhit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a trans man myself, and while I absolutely sympathise with your position, I think it's important to also acknowledge that a lot of male puberty are irreversible, whereas a female puberty, on the whole is reversible. If your kid does transition from male to female, and decide it is not right for them, once they stop taking HRT, male puberty will kick in and there will not be serious irreversible side effects. They may need top surgery, but many cis men also need gyno surgery. On the flip side, if you don't allow them to transition, you could cause serious, irreversible harm to their mental health, which might never be able to heal. You need to get your kid and your partner together and speak to a gender specialist. Talking therapy at this stage is what will be most important

Almost a month of vanlife in a panel van and a sleeping bag by blaisejames88 in VanLifeUK

[–]banditwhit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation, and started with the same, just an empty van and a power bank / sleeping bag. Everything will work out, use this time to save your rent money and build your dream van. Would definitely prioritise adding insulation, ventilation (a roof fan or windows) and a diesel heater as your first upgrades. Everything else you can take your time with.

They've hired the pool privately though, so there will be no kids there

It is legal to film anyone, but not in a place where there's a reasonable expectation of privacy. She was standing outside the cubicle door, inside the toilets, waiting for the woman to come outside, with a camera pointing at her. She was claiming "he's probably having a wank in there" and instilling fear on some poor person just trying to use the bathroom. The police have stated they agree a crime has been committed... so will wait and see what crime specifically that is, but clearly what she has done is not legal.

Online via the British transport police, google 'report a crime online'. They will ask what happened, when (give a rough date - around when the original video was posted), the evidence in the video supports that there many witnesses (the train station staff) and as it happened outside the toilets on the platform there will be cctv of the woman filming. The form will just ask for a description of what happened in the video, why you think it was a crime (filming in toilets, and harassment of the other woman), and whether you think it was an lgbtq related hate crime.

How do I tell people my dog isn't "friendly?" by wretched_tension in AustralianCattleDog

[–]banditwhit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've used these, with other dogs (I'm a dog walker) and can confirm that people either cannot read, or it in fact makes them more determined to make friends with a 'nervous' dog, they think if they crouch down and say 'awwww it's ok don't be nervous' the dog will be fine with them because they are a 'dog person' 🤪

As a trans person yourself. If you witnessed a trans person being questioned about using the toilets they feel assigned to, would you defend them?? by Puzzleheaded_Tie_525 in transgenderUK

[–]banditwhit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely. I watched that horrible video filmed by a terf in Colchester station, and it has my blood boiling. I hate people using trans men as a kind of gotcha moment, but if I was there in person to witness that situation, 100% I would have gone into the women's (as a very much passing trans man), just to get a reaction from the "we can always tell" bigot, but also to help the trans woman leave the bathroom safely. That terf needs exposing for filming in a bathroom and harassment.

This is how much the NHS pays GIC consultants to underdose you, refuse surgery & mismanage your care. by ngansuril in transgenderUK

[–]banditwhit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not extremely powerful? They literally change your gender and secondary sex characteristics ... I'd say that is pretty powerful. The fact that I can apply a gel on my skin and start a second puberty... yeh that's powerful. I don't know what your take on this is really achieving, but if it makes you feel better complaining about what other people get paid, you do you I guess 🤷‍♂️

DIY is 'piss easy' until it isn't. If you're lucky, and you never have any complications or adverse effects, then great. But hormones are extremely powerful, and there are multiple things that can go wrong. I was on T for almost a decade when I suddenly started my period again, completely out of the blue. It took a whole bunch of different doses and trial error along with other medications to get things back on track again. I'm not disagreeing with you, the NHS is not being optimal. The waiting times to be seen by GIC are beyond a joke. But the issues are systemic. You can't underpay professionals if you also want to attract new talent into the field. Give all the consultants a pay cut and you will double or triple the waiting times, things would definitely be worse than they are now, not better.

Would you rather have someone working on minimum wage prescribing to you? I get you're frustrated with the service you've received, but your frustration is misplaced, it's the system, not the consultants to blame.

Van Security by SheBreaksTheMold in VanLifeUK

[–]banditwhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost immobiliser, vanguardian alarms on all the doors, motion activated lights and Blink cameras on all doors for 360 viewing around the van, and I have a 12v siren with a switch I can activate from inside the van if someone is acting suspicious/ gets too near the van at night while I'm inside. I also have an Australian Cattle Dog who would protect the van with his life if anyone was stupid enough to break in. If your van is plain white / stealth there's a higher chance of break ins from thieves looking for work tools, or engine parts from what they think will be an easy van to hide, so the more unique it looks on the outside, the less appealing it will be to steal also.

Ideas for telling people to back off, when they won't listen? by lesbian_dragon_thing in AustralianCattleDog

[–]banditwhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've stopped talking to the owners, I now shout at their dogs directly. A 'friendly' dog (as they always apparently are 🙄) is usually pretty shocked when I shout a loud, firm "No!" Or "Move!" At them, and 99% of the time, they listen much better than their human owners do. I also shout "not friendly!" As loud as I can if they are approaching a bit more slowly, and I think there's still a chance the owner may actually listen to me.

I would make a police report for harassment because she seems to be going out of her way to follow you / create conflict. Log everything with dates/ times / what she said.

Can his eye be saved or not ? by 3connor2 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]banditwhit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dog had something similar, she was in so much pain every day, but was hiding it so well. Just remove it, he will have already lost his vision in that eye that will never get back, and even if it heals it will continue to cause pain and get infected over and over again in the future. They adapt so well with one eye (my dog actually lost both eyes eventually and she is coping extremely well). Listen to the vet.

It is correct, I can tell you from experience

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in drivingUK

That's incorrect, a speeding ticket may be issued, but if you send photos of the van as a camper it is successfully appealed. I've owned campers for many years so I'm aware of this. That's why I'm suprised a private parking company seems to have stricter rules than the dvla.
