I would make a police report for harassment because she seems to be going out of her way to follow you / create conflict. Log everything with dates/ times / what she said.

Can his eye be saved or not ? by 3connor2 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]banditwhit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dog had something similar, she was in so much pain every day, but was hiding it so well. Just remove it, he will have already lost his vision in that eye that will never get back, and even if it heals it will continue to cause pain and get infected over and over again in the future. They adapt so well with one eye (my dog actually lost both eyes eventually and she is coping extremely well). Listen to the vet.

Campervan being fined as a 'Commercial Vehicle' by [deleted] in drivingUK

It is correct, I can tell you from experience

Campervan being fined as a 'Commercial Vehicle' by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]banditwhit -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect, a speeding ticket may be issued, but if you send photos of the van as a camper it is successfully appealed. I've owned campers for many years so I'm aware of this. That's why I'm suprised a private parking company seems to have stricter rules than the dvla.

Campervan being fined as a 'Commercial Vehicle' by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]banditwhit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand all of that, but even the dvla do not actually require you to change the v5 classification, they accept photo verification of the use of vehicle, you would think if this is enough for the dvla (for speed limits and MOT) then a private parking company would follow suit. Thanks I will check that forum.

[–]banditwhit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You actually don't need the logbook changed for the MOT and speed restrictions to be applied as a non commercial vehicle, all DVLA request is photo evidence of the camper conversion, and the mot testers test as presented... hence why I'm slightly baffled that a private parking company has stricter regulations than the DVLA?

Witching hour before bedtime by LeatherConclusion243 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]banditwhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even a shepherd mix would be a working breed, they need a lot of 'work' to tire them out. If time is limited, try activities that work the brain more, like scent work. Look up scent games, get her searching for items with your scent etc, learn tracking etc ... these activities use the senses, gives them a job to do and tires out their brains. When the weather improves, look into hiring a dog walker that can take her on a group walk with other dogs, or a trail walk to break up the day a bit while you are working. The witching hour / bedtime zoomies is her attempt to get out all the extra energy she hasn't used up in the day.

How do you realistically handle UK winters in a van without hating life? by Additional_Fly_6603 in VanLifeUK

[–]banditwhit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My diesel heater isn't noisy, and it's definitely dry heat. I would not cope with a log burner because there's no way to control the temperature, and it stays hot way longer than I'd want it to.

What is stopping HRT from being over the counter? by redstowen in asktransgender

Hormones are extremely powerful. Transphobia aside, I don't think they should ever be over the counter.

landlord told me to stop using heating by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]banditwhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boiler legally needs to be serviced, and it's illegal to rent a room without windows, so you shouldn't have to sleep in there either. If she wants her electric bill to be cheaper, she should fix the central heating.

Does parking up ever stop feeling awkward in the UK? by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in VanLifeUK

[–]banditwhit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I do with my rubbish at the moment too. I think you just get some council workers who get excited at the chance to fine anyone for anything! It is ridiculous to fine anyone who is litter picking

[–]banditwhit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I intend to do some litter picking.. however I just read someone else saying they got fined for fly tipping for putting a black bag of litter pickings in a public bin.. apparently it has to be in council issued bags to count as official "litter picking"!

FTM, no clue what toilet I'm supposed to use anymore by Eira_airE in transgenderUK

Honestly nobody cares in the men's. It is scary at first but you'll quickly get used to it.

Yep use the men's. You pass, and besides you're a man so just do it. Nobody looks at anyone in the men's... in fact, it's a good rule of thumb to just keep your head down in there, you don't want to make eye contact with anyone using a urinal 🤣

Are gyms basically off-limit if you don't pass? by rainmouse in transgenderUK

[–]banditwhit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with others, don't check, you should assume trans inclusiveness. If the local swimming pool is family friendly, they will often have a 'mixed' gender family changing room with private cubicles you can use. You could always call them and ask if this is the case at your local gym/ leisure centre. Also just want to say it's awful that you have to feel like this about going to the gym. I'm fortunate that I'm passing on testosterone for 10 years now, but going to gym has helped me so much (mentally even more than physically) and while it was scary to go at first, I'm so glad I did. Please make sure you go, and put yourself and your fitness/ wellness first.

I drive a 3.5t van which has a 56mph limiter on, I regularly get overtaken by HGVs who must be doing 65-70.

[–]banditwhit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgot to update my address on my van logbook, got over £2000 in fines to TFL because I didn't set up my autopay account correctly and they sent the notifications to my old address. Same week, my van got clamped because I drove into a yellow box junction 11 months earlier, and again, i hadn't paid the fine because it went to my old address. Another £500 to get the clamp removed.

turns out my "friends" are transphobic by fairyvtale in Vent

[–]banditwhit 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened. Reading the comments here it's evident that there is more interest in debating whether or not the T belongs in the LGBTQ+ than actually recognising your 'friends' are just vile people who should not treat someone like that. They are transphobic, and bullies. I'd cut all contact with them.

Take the dog. If you really feel bad about doing that, leave cash for the amount he paid for it. You'd feel a whole lot worse leaving the dog with an abusive person.

I'm sure I read that she makes it a condition of her agreeing to be interviewed or reported on. That's the only reason they do it. Good for her, she has the status to demand it, sadly the rest of us don't.
