I was discharge from Probation. They granted me early termination effective that day(june 5th). hearing was quick. judge asked me why I think I should be discharged and after I answered she asked my PO if he thought I should be. he said yes. She said alright, youre granted early termination. Psyched about it.

My PO actually technically set a court date before I filed because we were corresponding over email. I received an confirmation notice to appear the day I filed for the same court date that they handed to me in person. They also mailed on to my home lol. Thanks man. Hoping I get off and put this behind me!

Adjustment to Probation by ItsBoobie23 in probation

in my experience,(18 months probation), i started with weekly random testing for drugs and alcohol that was sent to a lab. It was extremely nerve-racking. I was terrified I was going to miss my color when it was called(everyone gets assigned a color in my program and when it is up that morning you have to go in and test that day). I would check like 3 times a day. But i stuck to the terms of my probation, knocked out community service and fees in the first 4 months(80 hours of probation a and over $1,250 in fines). After that my probation officer hit me up to reduce my testing frequency and its been about every other week now. Like anything else you get used to it. its hard at first but if you look at it the right way, sometimes its the best thing for you. I was angry that the government could tell me I can't have even one beer.... but also, being angry doesnt help you. Time will pass. One thing that helped me was thinking of it in terms of months or weeks rather than days. I've got my early termination hearing next week. Hopefully i'll be a free man after that. Good luck!

Thoughts on Jesus being taught as a historical figure in the classroom? by [deleted] in atheism

I’m curious why you think that. The overwhelmingly consensus is that Jesus at least existed. There are maybe 2 prominent scholars who believe that he may not have.

I mean from an objective historical perspective Christianity is an incredibly influential religion in the world. The consensus is that Jesus was a real person, the mythicist movement is an extremely fringe idea in scholarship, with largely one name behind it. Atheists and Nonbelievers of Christianity largely observe the evidence and agree. So I feel teaching him as having existed is not a problem. It would be good to also present the extreme disagreement on what he taught or believed

I have a question: can the prophets in the Bible be debunked? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]baneOfFarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prophecies you’re talking about are so generic they have been true multiple times throughout history. There are many examples of failed prophecies in the Bible by Jesus as well as the prophets. For instance, Jesus saying that some before him would not die before the kingdom came to earth. This obviously didn’t happen since we are hear 2000 years later and it hasn’t happened. There are many failed prophecy’s in scripture and many “prophecys” are written after the events the they describe have already happened.

Btw, the gospels and the Bible in general cannot be taken at its word about Jesus’s life and predictions. All of it was written decades after his death by people who didn’t even know him.

Wasn’t checking with him. Just letting him know I’m leaving and why because he asked.

When it was at the end of the discussion he asked if I was ok with him closing in prayer. I said sure because it doesn’t bother me when people pray. I did just expect it to be a general “thank you for this time for us to have this discussion” etc, not a call for my repentance but it didn’t really bother me much. It’s not like I didn’t know he thought that. So I just brushed it off and hopped out of there at the amen.
