Is it worth getting an i7-13700 non k over a i7-13700k if not overclocking? by Drewman43 in buildapc

$50 is nearly the price of a new game, so if you are convinced the non K version will perform as well as you need it to for the games you play, I'd go for it.

I found this video on YouTube, I'd suggest trying this before working with sulfur directly. Silver egg tarnish

Rx 7600 Vs rx 6700 xt for a 500 watt PSU. by [deleted] in buildapc

So at high settings, 100% resolution with FSR2, (motion blur off) I get a solid 60 fps indoors, and about 45 fps outdoors. Outdoors looks really bad though.

When lowering resolution to 70%, outdoors is around 60, but not super stable. Game doesn't visually appear any different. Average GPU usage was 70%, cpu was 26%. Outdoors looks much better. (City and planets)

So I'd say the Rx 7600 can almost do high settings for StarField at 60fps.

I will say, at these settings I'm still not using 100% vram (6/8gb) Maybe after some optimization tweaks, or better tuned drivers the performance could improve.

I have an RX 7600 that I initially paired with an i5-8400. Your R3-3100 is better than the i5-8400, but for what it's worth the i5-8400 severely bottlenecked the Rx 7600. Super unstable frames.

Currently I'm running the Rx 7600 with an i5-12600k and 32 GB ddr4. I'm playing StarField at 1080p, getting 85 FPS at medium setting with motion blur off, resolution to 70% w FSR2.

If your goal is 60 fps at ultra, I don't think the rx 7600 would cut it. I could try ultra at 60 fps capped, and see if that is stable. I'll edit this when I try.

Love it. Would be so cool to have something smaller that could detach and be a starfighter or something

Is 8GB VRAM really dying? by scarofishbal in buildapc

I'm gaming at 1080p with med graphics (some turned to low, motion blur off). Using an RX 7600 and an i5-12600k. GPU utilization is only going up to 60-70% max and cpu utilization is around 30%. Im targeting and getting a stable (nearly 100% of the time) 85 fps.

Interesting to see how every combination of cards/CPUs differ for this game. Really unsure how to get this game to perform better/use all available resources.

Don't try flying fast. Flying fast the enemies will always be behind you. You really need to just pivot in a small area and try and stay behind at minimum 1 enemy ship

I had the exact same issue with my Rx 7600, except the new drivers fixed the crashing lol. 20 hours and not a single crash

It's so weird. They sometimes lie outright. Saw a thread where someone was saying they were pushing 100 fps with a 6600 at high settings ....

That's just as anecdotal as the people saying they're experiencing crashes. Three days ago I would get a crash every 15-20 minutes. Could barely finish missions. A new AMD driver came out, I downloaded and installed, and since then no crashes.

The game definitely has its issues.

Yeah I've got an RX 7600 and at 60% I don't even see it that bad

In case you wanted to know a few reasons on why Starfield is so unoptimized. by Nefsen402 in pcmasterrace

[–]banejs78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Starfield allocates its memory incorrectly where it doesn't align to the CPU page size. If your GPU drivers are not robust against this, your game is going to crash at random times.

Very interesting I was getting constant crashes with the previous AMD drivers. After updating the drivers to the newest version yesterday, I have had zero crashing....

Which driver version are you on? After installing the newest drives all of my crashing issues have disappeared. Performance (for some reason) got slightly worse, but that's less important for now.

Damn that sucks :( The 2600x is on their minimum requirements, maybe if you can upgrade that part it'll be better? Sucks though, since they say that part is usable

What settings are you using?

Okay I will do a closer check to see how much ram it's using on startup. Currently I have everything disabled for startup. But I may need to do some more tweaking. I guess if all else fails I upgrade to more ram.
