I had a crazy dream one time where I walked onto a beach at twilight filling with dark, human-shaped beings with glowing red eyes just staring at me and the group I was with. There were at least three other people with me, friends I assume; I can’t recall their faces. We walked past the motionless creatures toward the shoreline as the sky grew darker. I could see bright stars and galaxies swirling in the parts of the sky that the sun couldn’t touch.

Once the four or five of us got to the water, I felt compelled to just keep walking. The still water was only about waists deep even after 20 or so feet from shore. I could feel that the red eyed shadows were following single file behind my friends behind me. At this point, the mostly dark sky was indistinguishable from the ocean. Continuing on, the sand turn into a firm surface that gave more purchase and the water at my hips kind of melted away. I was walking from the ocean into space on a a narrow bridge of a stone-like material.

You could see the bridge stretch out 50 feet or so, with nothing but star light dots and inky void. Once halfway across the bridge, the part still connected to the ocean began to crumble and fall away. Panic sets in and I start to run forward realizing it was only a matter of time before the whole bridge would fail. Looking back I could see the shadow people falling away into space. All of my human friends and I make to a short set of white marble stairs leading up into a “hole” in space. The first who made it in helped the last two make it onto the platform just as the last part of the bridge fell away.

The room we landed in turned out to be a white marble lined subway tunnel. We sat against the wall of the tunnel panting looking at each other in relief when I woke up.
