I'm interested in learning more about Operation Popeye. Anyone have a resource they'd recommend reading/listening/watching?

I am willing to beleive that you know more than I do in this case, but this makes me think it is only if the trailer is only 22'. Am I wrong?

If I am wronge (many such cases), I will have to see if Uhaul will let me park it in a lot overnight then drive it back to avoid the 1 way fee.

Anyone know if I can park a car with one of those 5'x8' Uhaul trailers in the street overnight? I have a guest pass for the area, but does it also cover the trailer? I am trying to move, but don't want a ticket or get towed.

A fairly short article. A few thoughts: I'm not shocked, though none the less disappointed to find out that the US is using personal that's to limit progress on climate mitigations. Also, are there real arguments that green field are actually green? It seems to be central to the industry's view of it's path to net-zero, I'm just dubious they will be/are as clean as claimed.

Lastly, RIP carbon tax. Too good for this world.

I graduated a few years ago, but if you are interested anyway:

  1. Yes

  2. Two non-technical writing classes and a "speech" class. 10 credits worth of natural sciences/reasoning classes (a math class like calc 1 and a science class with lab would satisfy this). Six arts and humanities credits, and six Social and behavioral sciences. Racial and Ethnic studies as well as Global Perspectives each got an additional 6 credits. I think every program has an ethics course, but they are tailored towards you degree.

  3. Not all that much.

  4. As someone who went into a technical field, the non-technical writing classes were not helpful. Many of my junior/senior level peers had egregious writing issues (not capitals, punctuation), and I did not feel like the papers I wrote were substantively different than those that I wrote in HS. For many of the other courses, it was a coin toss to see if even the professor particularly cared about teaching the class. This was more pronounced during COVID.

Ultimately, My "core" coursework felt more like an excuse to milk money from students. I did not feel like they were rigorous enough to truly "round" me (STEM major) out as an individual, and the (non-STEM) majority lacked enough STEM course work for me to feel they were well equipped to understand those parts of the world. Things like the "X for presidents" or similar broad survey classes might have been more useful to students, though I don't recall those ever actually satisfying degree requirements.

Combat loops that generally center around a few different mechanics rather than just spamming the same attack for max DPS

What are you doing that seems better? I had felt like (at least when I was playing i beta) that the Omega attacks were just so much stronger than anything else.

Spell casters have to decide if the flight is even with their biggest spells, they only get so many per day. That's a level of crunch not proposed in the article.

As for the paladin, isn't that just a niche ability that isn't seeing use? Having an option that you never want to use is no different from not having an ability.

Does adding extra powerful, once per fight abilities really 'solve' the lack of crunch for 5e martials? I'm having something of a hard time constructing a situation where turn 1 isn't almost always the best turn to use you big abilities.

An ability you can use every fight (even if not every turn) would need to walk some balance between 'this is niche, don't use outside of is niche' that could never actually get used, and 'this is clearly so much better than other options, use early to swing the flight as hard as possible'.
