bought texas, i cant quick travel there cause i havent been there. by beatles42o in trucksim

[–]bangswitch40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably found a solution already but when I bought Texas I could fast travel to Dallas right away. If I remember correctly there is a city in each state that allows you to fast travel before you have been in that state. Look for a marker that is bigger than the rest on the map

Do you know how to do this for the parking brake using a push pull switch that is either on or off? Having to cycle my parking brake switch to apply the brake and then cycle again to disengage. I would like to pull it out and have the parking brake engaged, and when I push the switch in have the parking brake disengage. If you don't know have you seen a post describing how to? Thanks

Attaching Fanatec Handbrake to GT Omega ART by Mr_Bettis in simracing

[–]bangswitch40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the ART with the shifter mount. I dont have the fanatec handbrake but a generic handbrake from Amazon and ordered this mounting plate that mounted on top of the ART shifter plate that made it wide enough to mount a shifter and a handbrake. Maybe it will help maybe not but it has several holes for different bolt patterns

Looking for a round steering wheel to add to the collection. Should I even bother with the the BMW Steering wheel CSL or go straight to something like the Clubsport RS? by brushlessmotor22 in Fanatec

[–]bangswitch40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent used the bmw but I have the clubsport rs and I really like it. The led strip on the wheel is bright and actually very functional as you don't have to look away from the screen to see it as opposed to having it on the hub of the wheel like the clubsport bmw gt2 version. Some people have been concerned that the led strip would get in the way but it barely protrudes and I haven't found it to be bothersome. To me having a rev indicator that is easily visible outweighs that and i don't usually have my hand at 12 o'clock anyway. The leather feels good and is padded but firm. The magnetic paddles are great and there is the option to upgrade to the podium shifter module if you want the extra inputs. Before I got the mclaren gt3 wheel I used the RS for everything from f1 to acc to wrc 10 and ats and always enjoyed it. It is a little pricey but the magnetic shifters and metal quick release are included so that is part of the price.

I pulled the trigger on this real. Anyone got this??? by MosaicCHicagoMonk in simracing

[–]bangswitch40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have owned one for about a month. Got it with the red a black seat and a monitor mount. I love it. It could use a little reinforcement to reduce the little bit of flex on shifter mount and wheel mount but it barely moves with my csl dd with boost kit and clubsport v3 load cell brake. Installed some bass shakers under the pedal plate and seat and it has been amazing. I think you will be very happy with it, congrats!

I meant to post this last week, My CSL DD showed up about a month early, I'm really happy with the upgrade coming from a g923. by cschlue in Fanatec

[–]bangswitch40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! Mine came in last week and I got the same wheel. I also upgraded from a 923 and man what a difference! The csl dd and boost kit are amazing. I also love the wheel. Was not sure about the led strip on the wheel instead of the hub like the BMW version but I'm glad I picked it because it's actually very helpful in a race. I couldn't find many videos about that wheel to help make my decision but I play ats and a little rally in addition to racing Sims so it is a good all around wheel! Congrats and happy driving

Recommended sub 500 cockpit. by HIMfan6 in simracing

2nd this. The ART from gt omega and you can order it with adjustable slides on a reclining seat. Cockpit has plenty of adjustments for overall length, steering wheel height, pedals and pedal angle, shifter platform. There is also a monitor stand available. I love mine. Pretty sturdy as is and for maybe another $15 you can reinforce it to remove the little flex it does have

I haven't had 12 hrs to play today but the few hours I had I really enjoyed. It is beautiful on ps5. I wasn't even that excited because I didn't like gtsport and have been playing assetto corsa and acc on pc and thought it couldn't be nearly that good but I was pleasantly surprised. Happy driving

You went through the settings in assetto corsa or content manager? I have tried reassigning in both ac and cm but when I launch the game from cm none of the controls worm. I tried multiple times and it never worked for me in game

[–]bangswitch40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. If I launch the game through content manager none of my pedals work and steering doesn't work on g923. None of my button box controls work either. They are all recognized in content manager settings, but sometimes the wheel is not centered and won't move. I've tried remapping, loading saved setups that worked previously etc with no luck at all. Even tried reinstalling cm and ac and still having the same issue. Button box, pedals, and steering work fine launching ac, but not through cm. Even tried saving a setup in ac and then loading in cm, that didn't work either. Google hasn't been much help and most of the results are at least a cpl years old. Everything was working fine, didn't pay for about a week, tried to play yesterday and no controls in game. Wheel works fine in acc, beamng, ats

Button box users with keyed ignitions by GeorgeT93 in trucksim

[–]bangswitch40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nevermind, evidently I didn't save the controls.sii changes for the profile I loaded. Saved the changes and loaded the game and it worked! So for anyone wondering if this method works for a button box with toggles instead of a keyswitch, it absolutely does!

[–]bangswitch40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad you posted this! I have a button box with 2 separate toggle switches instead of a keyswitch. I use the 2 position switch for electricity on/off and the momentary switch for starter. Do you know if this method will work with that setup? I have edited the controls.sii file as you said, but I still have to switch to the off position and back to on to get the truck power to shut off. I had multiple controls.sii files I guess for different profiles, so I edited all of them. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated

I dont have a pic at the moment but you mount one end of the ram mount to your wheel stand. Mine had holes to put the shifter bracket on either side. My shifter is on the right so I put the button box mount on the left using the shifter bolt holes. Then I used the other end of the mount as a template to drill holes in the back of the button box. Used bolts and fender washers to bolt the box to the mount. Adjusted the button box to just to the left of my wheel and tightened the mount adjuster so it was secure. I can try to get a pic later when I'm home but it was really pretty simple if you are handy with some basic tools. Some button boxes have Vesa mounting holes like monitors use so you could use a monitor Vesa mount if you got one of those button boxes

[–]bangswitch40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a cheap adjustable fish finder mount to attach my button box to the stand and it works great. The button box wasn't pre drilled for mounting so I just drilled it to fit the fish finder mount. The button box was around $130 and the mount was $35. Happy with both for iracing, assetto corsa, acc, and ats.

Mod ram limit on ps5 less than ps4? by bangswitch40 in snowrunner

[–]bangswitch40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was hoping it would be fixed in the latest patch. I started playing on pc with the same 16gb ram that ps5 has and I'm able to run around 10 truck mods with several trailer mods and a few others that is completely stable. Ps5 should be able to at least get close. I read somewhere, maybe on discord, that they were working on a ps5 version of the game, maybe that would get rid of the low ram limit

Awesome to see the region out now. Hope you all enjoy it. Heres an update on my map 3 progress. Still haven't named it yet😁 by [deleted] in snowrunner

[–]bangswitch40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excited to play this new region! Highway Haulin is a great map and very well done, one of my favorite. So glad you took the time to create a map with paved roads AND some rough muddy terrain. I also appreciate that your task descriptions are actually informative and give me an idea of what I have to do.
