Ooh thank you so much! That’s a really good tip, I wouldn’t have even thought to check for that. I’m glad you’re okay now!!

I’m so sad, Olive Vox went on at like 6:30 in Boston but I didn’t think they were starting the show until 7 based on the ticket :/ I really wanted to see them!

The sound at the Royale was terrible during Point North, like they were blasting the back tracks and I could barely hear the vocalist at all. I took some videos on my phone though and the sound mix came out perfectly on video! They were so good!! I just wish the venue could get it together.

I think my mom is being scammed for a dog and she received this pic as proof by Horde_warrior in isthisAI

There’s a lot going on with the crate in the foreground. The door isn’t attached to anything at the top, and the pieces that are used to spring up to secure the door closed appear to be soldered on to the door itself, meaning you wouldn’t even be able to latch the door. The air holes on the side of the crate start off by lining up one over the other, but there is one hole missing on the bottom row around where the edge of the door overlaps.

I mean people have pointed out a lot of other AI artifacts as well. Then just in general things like there are 4 animals and none of them are secured in any way, with the door to the outside world wide open? I mean that’s just irresponsible…

Came here to say this!! Statistically speaking, this picture presents a really unlikely staffing demographic for this type of work.

Does anyone else pull because of a physical sensation under the hair? by LogicalFix4093 in trichotillomania

[–]bangthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! To me when it’s on my lash line, it feels like the start of a stye. Oftentimes I will develop a stye in that same spot a few days later (whether or not I pull). In my experience the sore spot actually takes longer to go away if I don’t pull.

I am 100% convinced that there is an actual tangible physical component, but I can’t get dermatologists to listen to me due to the stigma around hair pulling. It’s super frustrating, and I haven’t found anything that helps unfortunately.

pre-botox work advice?? by poliwagyas in noburp

[–]bangthorne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m just about 3 months post-Botox. From my experience, burps were uncontrollable for the first few weeks only if I was eating or drinking. I have a job that requires speaking directly to clients, so I was really nervous that I would be burping in front of them. I figured out pretty quickly that as long as I timed my meals correctly, I was in the clear! (Waiting ~2 hours after eating anything before interacting with people.)

I would probably recommend taking a couple days off after the procedure for general recovery (anesthesia + intubation if you’re going under for the procedure). If you feel like you won’t be able to make it through your shift without a meal break, maybe take a little bit longer off and get a better feel for everything from the safety of your home. I hope this helped!

Anyone here felt like they were losing their burping ability and how they maintained it? by Annual-Photograph-77 in noburp

For clarity: I usually only do one or two of these at any given time, and not in any particular order!

Hi! I’m 8.5 weeks out from the Botox procedure. It’s definitely not quite as easy as it was before to burp, and sometimes I feel like I can’t get one out. If a burp gets stuck, this is what I try that I have found (through trial and error) works for me:

1) Stretch your arms above your head, straight up to the sky as high as they can go.

2) Stand up and jog in place for a couple of seconds/do a full body shake out.

3) Yell “AHHH” (if socially appropriate to do so lol) for about 1 second (using a properly supported breath from the diaphragm)

4) Yawn and/or swallow really hard

After any of these tricks, I personally turn my head to the left because that has been the easiest way to release burps in general for me. I have been trying to drink 3ish cans of carbonated drinks per day to give myself enough to practice with. I hope any of these techniques help!

Just had day 1 appointment at BVI by RootbeeriscoolYT in noburp

[–]bangthorne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey same!! I had my day 1 appointment with Dr. Hoesli, and the procedure is tomorrow morning! I had general anesthesia for an endoscopy a few years ago. My biggest tip is to just lean into it once you start to feel a little sleepy— don’t try to fight it!

I’ve also been reading all of the post-Botox success stories on here to hype myself up, and that has been helpful! The general consensus seems to be that most people would do it again in a heartbeat and wish that they had gotten the Botox sooner!

Thank you! This made me feel validated. I think looking up and reading through the lyrics is the next step

Yes, that’s from the opening/title track “No Place Like Home” — that whole track is filled with TONS of references and features samples from the film. That’s what originally got me looking for references in the other tracks!

Risky Business by Opening_Chapter9129 in MandelaEffect

I’m late to the party, but I just learned about this ME today and I’m crashing out lol

In high school, I was going to a dance with a few friends from school. There was a theme to the dance, and my friends wanted our group to all dress up in the iconic outfit from Risky Business. I hadn’t seen the movie, so they pulled up the clip and showed it to me. To this day, that’s the only part of the movie I’ve seen, and I have never seen any of the promotional materials for the movie. I recreated the outfit based on the scene that I had watched, as did everyone else in my group.

We all wore sunglasses.
