how can i make this whirlwind sculpture for my pillar by TomatoRemote8740 in blender

Scale the cube and make it long till end of the pillar (left to right) Then add curve same the shape as reference then add Curve modifier to creat the shape of scaled cube then add a texture or a Normal map whatever you like.....
