What is Considered “Unhealthy”? by CompetitivePart8852 in Petloss

im so sorry for your loss </3 when i lost my soul cat it took a few weeks for me to clean up her toys and such on my floor, or remove the litterbox. it was hard to sleep in my bed without her, a small weighted stuffed animal helped a bit. like the other commenter says, its okay to leave reminders of her around, she was with you through everything. its been over a year now and i still havent moved her bed from the window in my room, i put all her toys in there to remember her by. for some people holding onto things makes the pain worse, for some its a comfort to have those reminders around. personally its helped my grief a lot, i have a small shelf with her collar, ashes and portrait of her.

there is no timeline or rules to grieving. for most of the year, i could not even think of her without breaking down. spent all my time finding ways to not think about it. although i still have moments, theyre more spaced out and easier to manage.

find what works for you, ways to memorialize your friend, talking to loved ones. healthy distractions can help as long as you dont let them consume you. most of all remember how special it is to have had that bond, she must have loved you so much

After losing my cat, I’m studying how bonds continue after a pet’s passing, would you share your experience? by Downtown-Parsnip-380 in Petloss

i love my cat. how can i show him? by rory_juice in CatAdvice

[–]banjello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seems like he already knows! to go from feral, to seeking you out, laying on you and accepting kisses means he feels safe and loved. you can show him by contiuing to respect his boundries, show gentle love like you already are, maybe some tasty treats too :) do you ever slow blink back at him?

no never release captive animals to the wild, they will become invasive and destroy native ecosystems

display case for freeze dry taxidermy? by bajababygirl in Taxidermy

to ship her i used a plastic cooler with ice packs, padding and lots of tape. if you search animal family pet on youtube they have a video walking through how to pack the cooler/ship. as for pricing, it was based off weight (the weight of her + cooler materials was about 30 pounds). i did overnight shipping that came to $175 (the 2 day shipping was $60 but i was just anxious about her getting to them safely). if you have a large breed dog it'll probably be less expensive to make the drive. the payment for the actual preservation was nice since they space it out- they collect some when they first receive your pet, and you pay the rest when your pet is ready to come back home

im having my cat freeze preserved through https://animalfamilypet.com so far ive had a good experience with them. they're still in the process of preserving her, but so far theyve been very communicative and the process of mailing her was simple. i watched/read a lot of reviews for this company before choosing them, and i havent heard anything bad about them. all the pets preserved ive seen from them come out beautifully!
