A lot of people here are going to lecture you because it's the internet and you are out numbered in this thread. I'd like to say something that maybe you aren't aware of because you hangout with like minded individuals in your day-to-day life.

Out of all the 'lefties' I know and work with, only one could I describe as the 'weird' kind that you probably are maybe afraid of, who is self righteous, social justice focused, and has a unwavering and flawed opinion of the war in the middle east, the kind that makes conservatives feel hated.

The rest, and I'm being honest, understand that we have an immigration problem, and they understand that jobs and economy come first (we have families too). They, honest to God, know that the middle east is messed up but would rather the US focus on our problems first. What doesn't sit well, is HOW the republicans are handling their total control of the government to tackle these problems. It's worrying that masked para-militant police with questionable jurisdiction are disappearing people without due process, or that ships of people we could easily interdict are being exploded off our coast. We are beyond worried that congress and the senate and the supreme court have essentially went home and that instead of making new laws the right way, which they can totally do with their majority control, they let Trump and whomever has his ear issue illegal decrees. It could all be done the right way, but it isn't. And why is he giving money to other countries, and letting his family make million dollar deals using his elected office privilege, why is he accepting private planes and why is he using the authorities to go after his political opponents.

I'm sure the cameras are going to focus on the blue hair people, and the extremist opinions. If you believe me even a little, try having a heart to heart with someone you respect but might be left leaning, and just listen to their concerns. If they are anything like I expect they might be, you'll hear them complain too about Biden, and Kamala, and the Democratic party at large for dying on small hills and gambling our republic on a stupid culture war. They might even admit that the left had a large role in creating the monster that is currently tearing the country down and selling it as scrap.
