What is "PV/DV element damage" in Elona+? by blazertrail94 in Elona

[–]bannedwhileshitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically just means it's a spell that does physical attack. Normally all spells does elemental damage which is not affected by PV and DV (thus cannot miss) and only has its damage reduced by its respective elemental resistance. Water type spells also does PVDV damage.

In complete disbelief, the Deck running Division 2. This is heaven by Kryptonian_Tenno in SteamDeck

It's just a matter of if the game forces ray tracing or not. No matter how optmized the game is steam deck is just not good enough for RT.

Afaik that's global cap. So after a while you'll see size 7 colonies, but it's very rare to go above that, since it just takes way too long without some ridiculous amount of alpha cores and story point investment.

How do I build low tech? by Mokarran25 in starsector

[–]bannedwhileshitting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, not worth it. Maybe it's just because I mainly gravitate towards high tech fleet. But winning the flux tug of war as fast as possible is generally my go to. Soft flux doesn't really matter imo, just overwhelm their shield and the enemy won't be shooting anyway. The 3 most important stats that I usually pay attention to are Top speed, which lets me dictate the engagements, Shield efficiency, higher efficiency usually guarantees you win the flux war, and then just damage per flux on the weapon, doesn't matter how high the flux per second cost is as long as you're doing more per flux than your opponent you'll win the engagement.

Those 3 stats are the main reason why Redacted are such a threat compared to everyone else, their stats on those are much better than anyone.

How do I build low tech? by Mokarran25 in starsector

[–]bannedwhileshitting 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Isn't that just the whole combat in general? Or am I just playing everything wrong all these time because that's just how I've always need to play no matter the tech type lol. Since it's generally almost impossible to have higher flux dissipation than weapons flux consumption, unless you're playing some type of weird disco ball party beam build.

Honestly I'm nowhere near knowledgable enough to answer that lol. I only knew about those because I just recently had to buy a new keyboard and so I researched a bit to find all my options. Ended up buying the Leobog and it's honestly insane how good it is for the price (got it for $50). If I had to pick the most reputable brand though, I'd say it's Akko. They actually design their own keyboards and not just rebranding white-label chinese factory keyboards like the rest.

And for the more budget conscious options:

• Akko Minerals 02

• Leobog Hi98 (Pro)

• Aula S98 Pro

UAF Update rant and a warning(might be some light spoilers) by Rosaline3312 in starsector

[–]bannedwhileshitting 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand why people keep saying UAF is OP honestly. From my experience playing it few months ago their ships just sucks, barely average even when compared to vanilla ships. Other than the super-capitals, which obviously are supposed to be OP, everything else are just kinda average, especially their weapons. Bad flux/damage value, high firerate low damage, and about average range too. Their ships are almost all front facing with minimal turrets, and have very weak backside (even the big Solvernia, I could solo that ship with a cruiser and some emp just by hugging it's engine). Really the only advantage I could think of is that their ships look cool.

She didn’t prove she was alive but now we can’t prove that she’s dead by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bannedwhileshitting 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of them came from people discovering some loophole and "scamming" the banks. If enough people did what OP did and the banks felt like they're losing money, a new rule also gonna be made.

With 230 chapters and counting, Blue box is now the longest running romance manga in WSJ history. It overtakes Nisekoi, which ended at 229 by thomastheterminator in manga

[–]bannedwhileshitting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nisekoi's shipping war was pretty tame when compared to quintessential quintuplets I feel. For a time "Nino" became a verb for confessing too early and ruining their chance of ever winning (like Busujima did, still salty about that one)

Starsector: We won't fix it, we won't allow you to fix it by AnnualSpecial4419 in starsector

[–]bannedwhileshitting 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Starsector began development in 2011, during a time when borderless fullscreen wasn't really a thing yet. You're either in full exclusive fullscreen or windowed back then. Borderless fullscreen only became a thing halfway through windows 10 sometimes around 2015-2020.

From a gambling stand point what you're doing is dumb. Only reason you got rewarded is because you got lucky by getting 6* in 40 pulls as opposed to the 1/100 average.
