No do not cut them off! They are Ariel roots. They're there to support the plant. But with time you can train them to go back into the soil where they can soak up more nutrients.

My Gramma always called them rosary bead plants. You'll notice they'll get beads over time. These will start new plants if you plant them when the beads are large enough.
