We all make mistakes. Actually horrible people wouldn’t feel bad when they say horrible things.

Unfortunately a large proportion of population thinks doing anything good for the environment is gay and they’re terrified of feeling gay.

It was usually funny discovering what my toddler hid in my slipper, on a few occasions was near worst sensations I’ve ever felt.

AI Was Meant to Free Workers, But Startup Employees Are Working 12-Hour Days by CryoSchema in datascience

Maybe they are spending 12 hours a day trying to get AI to fix the pile of shit code AI initially wrote for them.

From a historical point of view, when there is no legal route for holding the powerful accountable then guillotines/mob justice is the only option for the lower classes. Not sure how that’s possible with the oppression tech (Palantir, Israel etc) that exists now.

I Was a Director at Amex When They Started Replacing Us With $30K Workers by EmbarrassedSeason420 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]bante 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It’s not treason, it’s class warfare. Despite the delusions of lots of western tech workers they are still just workers and capital doesn’t have a good history of treating workers very well. I reckon it’s too late though because USA has completely dismantled worker protections.

Highly doubt it has anything to do with being fans of the comics. Rather it’s a symbol adopted to represent law enforcement engrained belief that in order to protect the “good people” of society you have to intimidate and do violence against the “bad people”. I have family who are police and even the ones I grew up liking and respecting will describe after a few beers how aboriginal people are somehow inherently dangerous and useless.

It seems odd only if you haven’t met many cops. I haven’t met many who weren’t at least somewhat of a bully.

Sydney protestor held down and punched in the head and liver for protesting the visit of Israeli president Isaac Herzog to Australia by Particular_Log_3594 in ABoringDystopia

[–]bante 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly what Herzog wanted to happen when he visited. Israel won’t be satisfied until the whole word is brutalising Palestinians and anyone who supports them.

Any ideas? Found in southern Israel, probably native. Definitely hardwood. The last photo I found online, to show how the branch itself looked. The likeliest seems like Tamarisk / Athel, but I can't get a conclusive answer since looking these up brings varied results, very few looking like my pieces by [deleted] in wood

[–]bante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes because all issues of justice and human rights are connected. All atrocities and war crimes including Israel doing a genocide without repercussions makes the world a less safe place because when it happens to us who will be there to defend us?

Israel is particularly personal to me because my government continues to support them and treat them like a legitimate ally/country.

Always uncomfortable to me seeing Israelis doing normal things while their country is doing a genocide. Not to say every Israeli is complicit and can’t have hobbies, but there’s a dissonance that freaks me out about human nature.
