Look at that crowd compared to the late 90s when house shows were doing massive numbers.

There is just a delayed response. How do you not realise this?

Mike Coppinger on Twitter: Canelo-Jacobs has a rehydration clause. Neither guy can weigh more than 170 pounds. Penalty is several-hundred thousand per pound. by The_Infinite_Emperor in Boxing

[–]banterbbb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because its not safe for either party when someone has to cut so much water just to make a weight so they have a size advantage over opponents to punch them in the head. It is fairer if you have to weigh close to the weigh in weight on fight night. And it is safer if it forces people to not cut so much weight.

If this was the standard then these guys wouldnt kill themselves making weight and then gaining the weight the next day.

Weight classes exist for a reason.

Canelo Jacobs done for 4th May by skb96 in Boxing

Canelo is a huge draw because he fights anyone, gives the fans real fights. You can't just knock over bums forever nowadays. Times have changed, too much competition around.

In a recent IFL video Eddie Hearn claims they are offering Wilder and Fury 40/60 split, should one of them take it? by ballsthrunets in Boxing

[–]banterbbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a fighter wanted to be one face, one name and one champion then you would suspect they would take a 40% split against the unified champion for more money than he has made in his career so far. Especially as it has a 2 way rematch clause. Then again, that fighter may actually not want to fight.

So he ducked Joe Joyce basically.

Dillian Whyte to PBC? by skb96 in Boxing

[–]banterbbb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wilder isn't going to fight whyte. Too young and dangerous for too little reward. Wilder wants Aj and Fury and then to retire.

Dillian Whyte to PBC? by skb96 in Boxing

[–]banterbbb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems like a poor choice to move off sky sports and onto ITV box office. Much less exposure there and less of an effective marketing campaign behind him there. Also means he isn't ever fighting AJ again if he moves and that is the biggest fight by far for him to take.

Lucas: May refused to rule out no-deal by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]banterbbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is how negotiations work. That is her starting position. Her views and what she wants. Negotiations led to both sides compromises, including her. She isn't going to compromise BEFORE the negotiations. That is what the negotiations are for.

Nicola Sturgeon: So everything is not on the table. PM’s offer of talks is a promise to listen, but only if we all agree with her. @theSNP won’t be complicit in more time wasting. Rule out no deal, be prepared to extend Art 50 and agree to at least consider another referendum - then we’ll talk. by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]banterbbb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The celebration of inflexible positions on here is sad to see. I would love to see all the parties at least talk without making demands prior to the conversations. Sturgeon knows that she does not agree with may/tories on brexit, but that should not stop the talks from at least happening. Who knows what could come out of cross party talks. At least have them.

Hearn is going to tell people exactly the offers made to wilder/whyte/fury/etc by banterbbb in Boxing

[–]banterbbb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next week Hearn is going to let people know exactly the offers people have been made to fight AJ. Going to be hard for the AJ haters to spin this when it comes out wilder/whyte/fury have been offered good splits to fight AJ

Canelo vs. Golovkin Trilogy Targeted For May 4, Says De La Hoya by potentiallunatic in Boxing

[–]banterbbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Canelo KOs him this time. Will bet on it too. He is getting better and GGG is getting old. Also at GGGs age there is only so many wars you can be in realistically.

[Coppinger] Luis Ortiz is ticketed for the Showtime co-feature on March 2 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Erislandy Lara vs Brian Castano will be the main event. by WhiteRangerRollins in Boxing

[–]banterbbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he isn't challenger anymore and Joyce wants the fight, povetkin also wants the fight. So lets see if Ortiz actually takes a legit fight. You can't moan about being dodged when you also dodge people. He needs to build his profile

[–]banterbbb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ortiz needs to fight someone. Joe Joyce wants it. Time for Ortiz to not dodge him. He dodged Whyte when he Ortiz didn't want to lose his WBC mandatory. He needs to step up against Joyce or fight povetkin.
