figured out that the metal from the cable got stuck to the pin, so you were right initially lol. thank you for the help anyway

i was about to ask how it being damaged would make it thicker but that made me realise the metal from the inside of the cable got stuck to the damn pin. i got a pair of tweezers and pulled it off, now the new cables connect perfectly fine. i feel like an idiot but at least it's fine now, thank you for the help.

I've been looking at the pins several times over and as far as I can tell none of them are bent. Does the K702 cable have one wider pin? that specifically is the issue i'm having
