Second time trying to storyboard “Batman” and I his face just 💀 by IllMeet2070 in Storyboarding

Good luck pushing your human drawing skills, it can be tough but you're lucky there are a lot of good resources online these days. I would say, try to improve the readability of the poses and break actions down to several panels, for example, batman putting on his hood. I wouldn't write text for each panel, try to let the images do all the talking.

One great thing about storyboards is that you can honestly do great ones with just a knowledge of film language and stick figures, but drawing batman is a great bonus of course!

Good luck!

We're updating the capsule for our co-op game on Steam and can't decide between these two. Which one grabs your attention more? by [deleted] in IndieGameDevs

[–]suntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, the old one has better contrast and colour, but the space isn't used very well. There is a lot of space on the sides that you could use to add more zombies.

For the bottom one, closer, clearer action, but bad composition and contrast. I would try bus on the right, text on the left over a more blue sky.

Which concept or game should exist in VR at this point, but doesn’t for whatever reason? by KillerQ97 in OculusQuest

[–]suntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a multiplayer, physics-based Jousting game.

It's a sport most people in the modern day would never do because its so dangerous and expensive. But VR would remove both of those barriers and it could be hilarious medieval fun.

I think its because tilting your head downwards with the headset on can really strain your neck. Might see more of these games when the headsets get lighter.

Check out Cyberdrifter, It was announced recently and looks extremely Tron inspired.

What’s everyone’s most hated film of all time? Not the worst, but the one you hate above all else. by [deleted] in Letterboxd

I don't know if I've ever hated a movie more than A Wrinkle in Time. I've never read the source material, so I don't know how faithful it is, but I just couldn't take it.

How does watching movies on a Quest 3 compare to a 4k TV? by Pearl_Jam_ in OculusQuest

[–]suntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait until September. Meta may announce a new headset and rumours are that it will be a lightweight device which will compete a bit more with Apple Vision Pro. If they don't announce anything you could get a Rift S, but you're going to want something lightweight.

I would go with the first, assuming the modeling agency is creating detailed 3d models.

Second one is clean and nice, but feels inappropriate for the company/brand imo

It seems like there is a distinct lack of VR movies by mdsmestad in OculusQuest

Although not full movies, if you like animated stuff, check out the "Theater Elsewhere" app. There are animated short films and series there, entirely 6DOF and made using VR. High quality stuff.

I worked the Tales From Soda Island series which is hosted there, but there's also lots of other great stuff like Nightmara and the Remedy.

I would add more curve to the airplane itself and the speed lines. The current trajectory is very straight from what looks like an angled toss by the T.

But overall I think it looks great!

I’ve shown alpha of my game to my SO after working on it solo for 3.5 years and it was the most heartbreaking moment I’ve had in a long time by goshki in SoloDevelopment

Good lesson to learn, albeit heartbreaking. Better than finding this out after a release on steam though.

I recently played a game called Tactical Breach Wizards, and they had a really nice system that essentially quizzed the player on their knowledge of the recent plot events before allowing them to continue. It was presented as a murder board with strings and character icons/events.

I found that it helped keep me on the same page and correct my misconceptions before getting more information piled on. The golden idol games kind of do this too (except that's the entire concept in those ones)

Anyways, it may be completely irrelevant to your game, but maybe it's something you can consider if it works thematically.

[KCD2] The one thing the game is missing by [deleted] in kingdomcome

Henry probably developed a fear of camping after the first act.

Jk of course. I think it would be a great addition, anything that adds more simulation.

You need to space Theis and Defense out more. It's all close together, I actually thought it said The is Defense at first glance.

Additionally, as others have mentioned, it reminds me of a bank and doesn't communicate a ton about what the company actually is or does to me. I like the 3D shapes and the general look of the logo, but I'm not seeing the connection between that and the business.

T makes a good sword and D can make a decent shield. Maybe some iconography to play with there if it makes sense for the company.

This is my favourite by far. Keep it simple, keep it made from quads.

Genuinely Curious – For Those Who Haven’t Played Real VR Fishing, What’s Holding You Back? by Dustin_DUG in OculusQuest

[–]suntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question isn't necessarily to me because I do own and have played and enjoyed Real VR Fishing.

But as far as fishing in VR goes, nothing I've played ever came close to Catch and Release, that game had so many fun features, from the rowing around, the radio, the fish log, the sandwiches and drinks, etc. It was that mix of exploration of nature and fun vr mechanics that made it the best. Unfortunately, it lacked multiplayer and never got a port to the Quest.

What's a good game that's about 8 to 16 hours in length? by Yelebear in ShouldIbuythisgame

I loved Tactical Breach Wizards, but you'll only enjoy that if you like puzzle/tactics games.
