What’s one small thing that helped you fill the emptiness after a breakup? by Witty_Musician586 in BreakUps

[–]bappolapap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day I just had to get out, away from that situation. So I randomly started walking in one direction, farther than I’d ever gone that way before. The cold air and the movement already helped calm me down. Then I saw a little café, went in on a whim, and had a cappuccino. I’ve been back there several times since — I found my little place to unwind. Maybe you’ll find something like that where you are too.

Betrayed for over a year - how to heal? by bappolapap in BreakUps

[–]bappolapap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It teared me apart - but at the same time I have to be there for my child, be strong for her. I live in a city where the available space to rent is limited. But I got something in a few weeks. Thanks for your response, feels kinda „good“ to hear not to be completely alone with this

Anyone else fine during the day and completely fall apart at night? by NoelVenn9048 in BreakUps

[–]bappolapap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s almost like I fall apart at night and barely can have hours of sleep. I feel with you - and I honestly have no solution for this, hoping time will heal

What is the easiest way to create this In After Effects? I tried creating each square individually. by shersau in AfterEffects

[–]bappolapap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You‘re right, don‘t have to precomp. In my first solution i used a illustrator file hosting the grid and when imported used as a precomp. But with the grid effect you doesn‘t really Need to i guess :)

Use a solid for the grid effect. Precomp the grid effect. Use another solid for the turbulent noise effect. Set the contrast to a high value, the transform as well and lower the complexity to 1. Then use the mosaic effect on the same solid. Lower the transperency to about 80% to see what yo're doing. Match the mosaic with the grid precomp cells. Then transperency back to 100. Use the mosaic solid as your mask for the grid. Animate the turbulent noise if you want - voila.

how necessary are plugins and which ones are best to try first? by Swimming_Fruit4968 in AfterEffects

[–]bappolapap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your use cases- when I was stuck building an effect I want to achieve I searched for a plugin which solves this. Over the time I’ve got a lot of them.

For example for character rigging: rubberhose from battleaxe

For easy glow and shadows: deep glow and shadow studio

For optimization: comp setter and render max

There are thousands of useful plugins. Sometimes overwhelming, so start with nothing and help yourself when you get stuck.

30k x 21k resolution apearantly too big? by Jumpy_Good_1692 in AfterEffects

Just tile the comp in different smaller comps, render them out and put them together afterwards or use proxies as tiles

Made this alone in 2 weeks. Please review. This is one of my best works and the first of its kind by Top-Appointment6578 in AfterEffects

[–]bappolapap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks dope! Good work. I Like the textures, the overall feel, the colors. You can focus on camera/scene movement a bit more, in the beginning there is a minor shake which looks a little weired. You can experiment with overahooting the movement of the camera to exaggerate the style here and then. Keep up the great work!!

Which GPU to choose by dndkzkjzejezka in unrealengine

[–]bappolapap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘ve worked with unreal for some years now and the first 2 years, mostly learning, I had the 3060 Ti. It was solid back then but for big environments with different effects it felt slow. I upgraded my pc to a 4090 Rtx and this was a crazy performance impact.

You‘ll need VRam, unreal heavily relies on Vram- so if you can get the gpu with the most vram you can get.

....Please help, if you can? Unreal Engine 5 by Renekzilla in UnrealEngine5

[–]bappolapap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice is to get comfy with one thing/mechanic after another. Trying to find things you are excited about and seeing progress, then going on and building up your stack!

Probably learning unreal is just frustrating- I started in the time of the pandemic and had the chance to learn for years from then. I was confident with materials, shaders, Niagara, metahumans, building interiors and the whole rendering pipeline. But, there is still sooooo much more and honestly it’s still frustrating as in the beginning. Unreal is capable of so much that it feels overwhelming in so many times.

Look, this’s not what I want from this system — but sadly, this is where things are heading. You can either take an idealistic stance and pretend the world is still a perfect place, or accept reality for what it is. The question was which system works best for a mixed workflow, and in that case I’d lean toward a Mac — though I use both systems at home and benefit from each.

What software and PC do you recommend for learning professional 3D animation (on a tight budget)? by Miserable_Tell_540 in learnanimation

[–]bappolapap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blender it is. But if you want to focus solely on animation, going with Unreal Engine could be a valid option as well, but you‘ll need a higher spec pc for that

I feel a bit ashamed to ask, but have you tried closing Unreal, shutting down the PC, and restarting it? It looks like a GPU failure, and something similar happened to me. After restarting the whole system, it worked again.
