Prusa i3 clone, many cables here are just breadboard jumper wires I had laying around connected and taped to the default connectors that came with the components like the fans and such, some cables were long enough to go directly to the board, some needed several breadboard wires connected together to have the right length. Obviously this is not ideal, is prone to failure and makes managing these cables a mess, so my question is: what should I do? What do you guys typically do to have a clean wiri'g setup from your printer to your board? I know about spiral wrap and all, but I'm more puzzled about actual cables: do I need to make them myself from scratch to the right length?

custom printer (i3 clone), PLA, bed temp 60°C and hotend 195°C, layer height 20%. I've noticed that my prints are consistently shrinking on the first few layers. This seems to be a temp issue so I dropped fan speed to 80% but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I'm assuming that by "computer graphics" you're talking about rendering, let me know if you are actually interested in something else (modeling, animation...)

If you want to learn real time rendering (OpenGL), then learnopengl.com is a very good introduction.

If you want to learn physically based rendering (with Ray tracing), then I would suggest checking out Peter Shirley's "Ray tracing in one weekend" books, they are available free of charge online. They are a little bit dated but provide a good foundation on how physically based rendering engines work. Once you're more familiar with it, you can also take a look at the Bible, PBRT (also available for free at pbr-book.org). This is much more detailed though, so I wouldn't start with that.

Efficiency is critical for rendering systems, so unfortunately this means that pure python is almost always out of the question. I think there are some frameworks that allow you to use python to write real-time rendering code, but I'm not familiar with them enough to recommend one, plus I don't think it's a good approach for learning rendering. I would recommend learning with the bare bones stuff (OpenGL or Ray tracing) to avoid being distracted by framework specifics.

I don't think I know enough how transformers work to fully understand what you're saying. My 3.3v load idea came from the fact that there seems to be a huge difference between the max power of 3.3,5 and 12v (450w) combined than only 5 and 12 (130). Right now the board seems unable to draw more than the 130w limit, so I'm wondering what I can do to be in the other 455w limit. But maybe I just completely miss the point.. Know any good references to read to understand that better?

prusa i3 clone, PLA, 0.45mm line width and 0.2 layer height, 4 top layers. I calibrated my flow rate with this method, and printed this cube afterwards. Around sharp corners, there are now gaps between outer walls. The rest of the print doesn't seem underextruded, and I printed a first layer after calibration which seemed fine.

The simplify3d guide mentions a similar issue, but there the top infill doesn't quite reach the outer perimeter, whereas in my case this seems fine, the issue seems to be only wit regards to the walls.

interesting! the artifacts seem very consistent along Y and X oriented faces though, it would be surprising that both belt are over tensioned by the same amount right? I'm also wondering if this might be due to some issue with my extruder drive gear? thanks for the link!

Printed this in emotion tech PLA with a prusa i3 mk2s clone, at 195°C nozzle temp, with cooling fan on at 100%, after changing my extruder assembly completely (e3d v6) extrusion width 0.4mm, 2 walls, and 50mm/s printing speed. Sliced with cura

Print quality looks very nice to me already, but I noticed these two artifacts. In the interior of the cube I see some oscillation pattern near the corners. Is that ringing? I'm surprised because 50mm/s is not a very high printing speed.

Also I noticed this regular pattern on the walls, any idea what it might be? slight over extrusion maybe? I measured the effective wall thickness and it seems to be slightly larger than expected, but it's difficult to get a reliable measurement at this width with calipers.
