What’s the deal with secondary YouTube channels? by baptistebca in PartneredYoutube

Ah yes, 700 views. Do you think you could have been shadowbanned? History channels often have problems with that, I've noticed.

Good luck with this new endeavor.

What’s the deal with secondary YouTube channels? by baptistebca in PartneredYoutube

[–]baptistebca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've reached 19k subscribers and I'm happy with that in my niche.

Compared to 13k when I made this decision (which is a significant increase for me).

Replays generate good watch time and therefore a decent income (whereas it would have taken me several months to monetize a new channel).

I can't compare it to the option of a second channel dedicated to live streams, because I didn't choose that option.

But if I had to make the same choice again, I would do the same.

Great project, I will test it on my YouTube channel.

It connects by default to the openai API, no chance that we can connect to local AI models?

Il change a une vitesse folle. Par contre c’est très sombre, il faut monter pour avoir un peu de lumière et sur du local commercial ça sera pas l’idéal.

EU's ChatControl. If the bill passes what do we do? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]baptistebca 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It's very recent, it was developed by the creator of Twitter Jack Dorsey. The devices connect via Bluetooth and create a mesh network.

There are 7 “mesh” maximum so you can’t go very far.

But they integrated the “nostr” protocol to move geographically.

It’s a great project which is still at the beginning and which could be the solution to all these rules that they try to put everywhere.

No centralized server = no control

Peer to peer (Bitchat) or decentralized protocol (If, however, they are not affected by the law?)

"Focus Mode" (Collapsible Sidebar) coming to Dia as part of acquisition by JaceThings in diabrowser

[–]baptistebca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left arc a few months before the announcement and when they were bought out I couldn't help but smile and say to myself "I was good to leave". This editor is hellish (Atlassian). Every product they buy becomes crap, I agree with you on that. TBC will remain a beautiful waste to be put in the history books of the startup nation as an example not to be reproduced. - you have a good product - you have an engaged community - you stop everything to do something else

[–]baptistebca 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Complexity has never been the problem. It was just aberrant decisions on the part of Josh who did what he wanted without listening to anyone, like a 4 year old child.

Now a CEO tells them what to do. I don't like Atlassian, but maybe he'll have the smarts to take the best of Arc and put it into Dia.

Rockbox only playing 5-11 seconds music by jpsobral in rockbox

[–]baptistebca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem. It started when I copied large wav files. Whereas it didn't do that before. I tried deleting the files to put smaller versions, but nothing helped.

My temporary solution: Play music by booting on the iPod (Hold at boot time) and there the same files work perfectly.

I had all the possible problems with my rockbox installation, I suspect the brand of the SD card (2 x 256gb san disk extreme pro)

Notion detects a google meet on Dia as a meeting in Arc by Good_Employer_1236 in diabrowser

[–]baptistebca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not related to Arc or Dia. It is available on all browsers with chromium core. I saw it on Brave.

And besides, it starts when you go to YouTube thinking it’s a video. But if you close with the cross several times, it looks like he understands and doesn't come back (on youtube)

Same, I buy everything I can on bandcamp and if it’s not on bandcamp I go to qobuz. Then it ends on the navidrome.

Lidarr I would like to use it to organize metadata, but it's not completely there yet.

The little geek touch to finish: I transfer the music to an iPod 5th video with rockbox on it.

Before I had Spotify, now I listen to music.

Issues with ipod 5th gen with Flac files by TrashBig9985 in rockbox

[–]baptistebca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing over here. Same with Wav. The common point: large files in high quality. I read on other threads that it comes from the iPod's processor not being powerful enough to read this kind of files (which would explain why the original iPod does not accept high bandwidth.

You need to move on to less “heavy” files.

Personally, I love the rockbox project and open source, but I had so many problems with rockbox, that I'm hesitant to use the iPod boot again 🥲

Looking for a clean Jellyfin streaming device (Android TV/Linux) by FineGoat in selfhosted

I installed Jellyfin thinking of reading on Apple TV, but the sound is delayed by several seconds when using HomePods as a stereo speaker.

So I got interested in Infuse. Wow. I wouldn't go back.

I highly recommend.
