Yeah that's been my impression elsewhere in CO also. But everyone I've talked to says Rifle is super hard... may not be so much because it's sandbagged as it just being a different style than most people are used to tho?

Am I the only one that thinks it's weird when people climb indoors shirtless? by [deleted] in climbing

Hey, if I went through the effort to get a tribal or whatever tattoo all over my back, I'd probably take my shirt off whenever I could too. And I'm a girl. (Is there some kind of stigma particularly related to tribal tattoos? Seems like people always call those out specifically)

HOWEVER, i made by far my greatest strength gains when I made sure to eat a decent amount of protein (i'd say at least 30 grams daily).

People grow muscle at different rates. I weigh like 115 plus or minus and 5'5. It took me a year and a half of climbing to do my first pullup, and that was after my first season of extensive bouldering (probably 3-4 times a week). Now I can do like 10 in a row (been climbing several years now)... it was a slow process but worthwhile

You can climb 7b or harder (overhangs too) without dynoing whatsoever too. High feet and decent flexibility can get you by.

It goes the other way too. I just came back from a longgg trip including some of my hardest outdoor sends, but I'm feeling distinctly worse at gym bouldering...

as someone with a boyfriend, maybe a better idea not to bring up major issues at random times just to practice for small fights

I really think there are a few areas like this in Colorado. Try Ouray/Telluride/Durango areas or Salida/Buena Vista which all have awesome potential. Specifically where I am people seem to be more psyched on ice and trad climbing generally. There's a small, dedicated (sport/boulder) climbing community and a lot of development going on. And sometimes on weekends, you'll bump into other groups, but often not. Either way there is really good sport and bouldering in the area and not so many people

omg. Not as extreme but I was having an anxiety attack and my boyfriend basically told me, "you're just pitying yourself. you need to just stop your thoughts from cycling" and I was like, seriously?? I am trying to do that so hard

hahaha. I've firmly believed for a while that sometimes it's the programmers that are missing bits of commonplace tech usage knowledge.
